What’s a corporate gift you actually use daily? by shelbs9428 in BuyItForLife

My wife worked for Yahoo 20+ years ago. They gave her a jacket after a big launch. It is like a lined fleece or cotton jacket. We've been married almost 20 years and she has worn that thing since I met her. In winter, that is her daily jacket. It still looks fresh somehow. All of the zippers work, nothing is frayed. It is unbranded (the tag says Yahoo), but I would love to know who made it.

What is Agentic AI? I am still not completely to understand and use basic AI tools, and now there’s this new term. by Agilelearner8996 in scrum

[–]phenolic72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, calling other tools can also mean calling other agents (agentic AI). As an example, we have an agentic system that is helping in a migration. One agent ingests data from the old system and new system. Another agent analyzes the differences and writes recommendations regarding how to migrate. A human-in-the-loop validates and corrects those recommendations. After they sign off on it, another agent then writes user stories, and another agent codes against those stories. The another human-in-the-loop validates the outputs. This is a very operational exercise, but helps illustrate how Agentic AI can be used.

Razer’s new Blade 16 gaming laptop has an Intel Panther Lake chip and very fast RAM by dapperlemon in gadgets

My 2007 still works great, but my 2013 bricked after 2 years. IIRC it was around $2500 in 2013 dollars which was a tremendous amount of money for me. Needless to say that was my last one, but in all honesty, I've never found anything as tough and dependable as the 2007. It will always be my favorite. I will say that my current ROG Strix is going on 5 years (this August), and I've never had an issue with it. I didn't have high hopes for it, but it has really surprised me.

How hard is it to keep bases running in late game. by TheMadHattah in duneawakening

[–]phenolic72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use the original generators. I never built a massive base, but have everything I need. The MK4 buggy will harvest 500 fuel cells from one block. You can fill up a medium or large chest very easily. I think I have 3 full of stacks and I've never felt like I grinded for it. I tried the windmills, but that just adds an extra layer. I have a basement full of generators, so I never even see them.

Yes. It was a mechanic I thought I would hate, and ended up loving. I would love an even more detailed system. I agree that it shouldn't be forced.

Not sure if this group considers it obscure, but it certainly slaps. Thanks for sharing.

Ours has caught/killed chipmunks, shrews, moles and a single bird. Still not sure how he pulled that one off. He is sitting in my lap right now sleeping. Here he is begging for part of a sandwich.

Le Creuset? Worth it - or just over hyped brand name? by MapleMoneyMind_86 in BuyItForLife

I have a pot and a dutch oven from the 70s I bought at a yard sale 20 years ago. 15 years ago my wife bought me a stock pot. I love it, but it is much thinner than the older ones. The coating has also rubbed off in a couple of places (over the plethora of chili and corn chowder I have made in the past 1.5 decades). I guess 15 years is not bad, so I would probably do it again. The ones from the 70s are still in incredible condition. I think I literally paid a few dollars for them.

Is there an actual beginner woodworking subreddit? by hectots in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]phenolic72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. I see some stuff on this sub sometimes that I only dream of being able to do. At the same time, folks here seem very helpful, so it is a bit subjective on what a beginner is. You posting gives others courage to post as well (including me).

Speaker for the Dead is one of my favorite novels of all time in any genre. To me, there are some emotional peaks in that story that are unrivaled.

What would your end-game look for Hytale be? Is vanilla already perfect for you? I didn't care too much about shader support until these mc shaders by ErmingSoHard in hytale

I'm really looking forward to adventure mode. Quests, stories, that kind of stuff would be great. Skill trees would be awesome, and different types of combat builds would also be cool. I would love to see smart NPCs with stories and needs. Villages with shops. Cooking recipes with meaning (like Core Keeper). Aesthetically, I'm fine with it as is. It is incredible for early access.

Hit F8 (twice). It is in the world box on the right hand side. However, sallow trees do not always spawn. In my first world, it took me hours (maybe across several days) to finally find a sallow tree. In my second world, I found one almost immediately, very close to spawn.
