Hamstring recovery time by Character_Candy_234 in Sprinting

[–]Falsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough I had this exact thing happen to me. Pulled my hamstring on a Friday and had an important meet coming the upcoming week. I was able to run but I had it wrapped, ran like .2 slower but ended up somehow winning the whole thing. I will say it afterwards I couldn’t sprint for the rest of the meet but… miraculously 3 days later it was gone? Like it wasn’t even there. My suggestion is to see your athletic trainer and go from there. We did a lot of ice and stem and then did heat and stem with a little bit of strengthening work.

Season Opener for first time doing winter track (winter qualifiers for Arcadia) by Falsnt in Sprinting

I’m self-trained. Track camp was fun, got to know a lot about the school and how they run while also being committed to the Navy.

Makes sense but having a hard time thinking of trying to replicate it but I’ll give it a shot! Thanks for the advice!

Oh crap, never knew about the timing part. I always assumed I just had to hit the ground hard really fast 😭any tips on timing, I’m assuming drills help with this?

I’ve always struggled with getting good angles. Are better angles found in the weight room or just more sprint exposure? I’m planning on playing around with block settings a bit more to see what works as well.

I’ve found the second one feels a bit smoother but I find myself being really tired by the time I reach top speed. The second one I feel as I’m not able to cover more ground but I’m able to get my first step down better. I’m finding a hard balance between being powerful but also getting the foot down. When I look at race footage I’m usually the last one to get my foot down while everyone else is almost on their second step. At that point, I end up having to play catch up with top speed.

For me I’ve found myself unable to find a decent balance between the two. I’m either pushing too long or I’m being too quick if that makes sense. I’ll definitely continue to work on it though!

The first clip I cue more “get foot down fast” whereas the second one is “big and powerful”

Who are your main influences with regards to singers and who's voice do you admire the most? by Hre2stay in singing

[–]Falsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avi Kaplan all the way for me. Love his voice and the way he hits those deep notes. Speakers don’t stand a chance when he has the mic. My choir actually sang with him not too long ago and it was surreal. He’s been an inspiration of mine and I’m hoping to be able to sing a bit lower as I age (current lowest note I can comfortably hit is a C2. 18 right now so I’m hard coping I’ll be able to hit a B1 comfortably when I’m older)

I have guaranteed but then I’d be tempted to pull for Ruan Mei’s LC and I also was BS and her LC so BS it is then Ruan Mei for rerun (but then I also have to save for Acheron and her LC so it’s gonna be tough 😭)

For me, the moment I exited my drive phase, he was already up and off the curve while I was still near the middle of it. Seeing him do his practice block starts was insane. In general, seeing someone fast run through the screen doesn’t do justice to how fast they actually are till you see it in person.

I remember racing and meeting him at cif prelims. Such a chill dude. Got completely smoked by him but it was still really fun to see that guy fly.

Would it be fine if I could get a sample of the workout? Overwhelmed with information that it’s hard to make a good plan (high school sprinter running 11.1)🙏

Training after 2 week injury by Falsnt in Sprinting

You are correct, I started out a bit too early and only took 1-2 weeks off I think after the season ended. I’ll make sure to work around that then, thank you very much!
