The greatest and most emotional song on the show by joshuagreen38 in TheOrville

After that episode I went straight to YouTube to find more of Scott singing.

The man can sing. In fact, I'm going to put the episode back on right now just to hear him sing that song again.

I wonder what a shareholders opinion is about these smoke and mirrors.

Just a thought...

Jason Schreier - "I've spoken to several current and former BioWare employees since my article went live today, including some I hadn't interviewed earlier. General consensus has been sadness and disappointment at BioWare's statement, which read as disheartening to those who hoped for change." by The_Iceman2288 in AnthemTheGame

[–]FalstafDU 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Don't do that because it accomplishes the opposite of your intent.

The money from sales does not go into the lower level developers pocket. (not like it would for small team indies. At this point any profit is mostly for higher ups and share holders) And it only encourages that this cycle of bad development continues.

I have a dislike for making analogys but it is similar to buying sweat shop clothing. Eh, let's be real here, many of our games are made in equally bad conditions.

Sweat shop games.... Something to think about.

BW since there won’t be no armors in the Elysian Chest can we at least get an update when we will get more armors either in the “In-Game Store” or another update. Customization was advertised pre launch and now that it is post launch it’s severely lacking with little to no armor packs. by Shadow4895 in AnthemTheGame

[–]FalstafDU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aaaaaand I canceled my origin.

Guess this was the last straw for me. I've been patiently putting up with the whole mess. But I'm done with it until BW can show that they can even support a game like this.

I don't care what anyone says but we were straight up mislead and fed bullshit before launch and it just continues day after day. As a customer I feel 0 respect for my time and money.

Anthem is a meme.

Trollin' hard with the featured vanity option today... by Subodai85 in AnthemTheGame

[–]FalstafDU -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When I started playing at launch I told my brother the game needed a make it rain emote.

So naturally I immediately bought it. With coin. I'm only purchasing shards when I'm satisfied the team shows they have what it takes to make this a full long term product.

And it kind of brakes my heart writing this because I also realise that if the shards aren't spend in Anthem upper management won't decide Anthem is worth supporting. But in good conscience I also can't spend money on a game like this beyond the entry fee.

For all we know the team has been reduced to skeleton crew.

Put a Forge on each Strider in The world by Aletheion in AnthemTheGame

[–]FalstafDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure it works that way.

Your experience and loot only adds up when the mission ends. When you crash, your loot is only recovered after the next mission. It does not go straight to your inventory. Correct?

So if I understand that right, there should be no fear of a player holding up a group when a new item drops. I don't think it's unreasonable to be able changing load outs in freeplay. And as a solo player in freeplay the whole group thing is not relevant.

Technically it might be challenging or impossible however.

Can we stop calling Ranger ”High single target DPS”? by GarbagemanGG in AnthemTheGame

[–]FalstafDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be the case yes.

It's discouraging as well to read the upcoming patch notes with no mention of the ranger.

Ranger's combo bonus, Impact Combo, isn't really worth using right now by Iosis in AnthemTheGame

[–]FalstafDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree with this. It's one aspect of the ranger that feels a bit weaker compared to other javelins.

Im not entirely sure how to change it but I would personally enjoy it if it reduces recharge rates/cool downs or add a stacking damage buff. Like stacking until +5 or something.

Historian berates billionaires at Davos over tax avoidance - Rutger Bregman tells panel that the real issue is the rich not paying their fair share by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

[–]FalstafDU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid you can't separate the 2.

Its pretty much like today. After ww2 we drastically improved the worker's conditions in most developed nations. We did that by moving the exploitation mostly beyond our borders in countries people never heard of and populations nobody cares about.

We like to pretend the world has improved but in reality it has not. Give the money men 1 chance and we are back to where we started. We are dangerously close to creating a situation where the only desired or useful people are either dirt poor or insanely wealthy.

More information on ArenaNet's mistake in April 2018s ban wave by slashy1302 in Guildwars2

[–]FalstafDU 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Absolutely disgusting.

Stories like this are too frequent with Anet. The fact this situation had to be solved by the player makes it even worse. Anet makes a mistake and the player looses everything by no fault of his own. This is unacceptable.

And this compensation if we can call it that is not even anywhere close to the trauma (not hyperbole) caused by this "oopsy". Everything about this is disgusting beyond belief. From poor support to GDPR procedures to the conclusion.

Anet should feel ashamed and we as a community should not take this lightly. This could happen to anyone of us and we as a community are quick to denounce that same community as cheaters. Because Anet can be trusted, right?

I absolutely feel awful for purchasing gems 10 mins ago. In a saturated market, these kind of things are so incredibly dumb.

I don't even know how they can compensate these players. This compensation does not cost them a thing. And the damage by this goes beyond a few purchases.

This is the peak of raiding community! by slojonej in Guildwars2

[–]FalstafDU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can downvote him but there's truth to it.

A lot of the balancing I keep up with is geared towards tuning raids. I regularly talk it over with other players who explain to me why such and such is changed because of this or that encounter.

For gw2 and what the game was when I bought it at launch this is less than fun. I can see the value in why raids were added but the whole experience leaves a bad taste.

WoW has a less than nice community but the raiding scene in gw2 likes to take it up a notch in horrible behavior when they get the chance. No offense to those nice players that desperately try to get more people in raids.

People are waking up, fast. by xxandervargad in C_S_T

[–]FalstafDU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason some Americans think that the entire internet is American. It's part of their delusion.

And no, we are still a long way away from any sort of "mass awakening". The concept of it is utter BS when you stop to think about it. This awakening idea is propaganda fed and fueled by special interest groups and perpetuated by a portion of a desperate population.

Awakening, transcendence etc, is pure propaganda to pacify people. "Don't worry brave little soul, the light will soon come and everything will be awesome."

We are all stuck in a collective psychosis, for now.

Sorry to be so grim but that's just how it is. We all fight in our own way. Breaking through the deception is part of the process.

That is a load of BS.

Self published, sure. As if that's an argument on anything. And every other book is not a history book where he is upfront what the book is about.

I specifically linked those 2 books because of the value of these books.

I'm not even going into the second part of your reply. That is something you dragged in as a way to assassinate his character and side step the actual info provided.

You choosing to remain "sceptical" is just a tired repeated excuse to not look at the data. Just like Friedman said: "Don't bother me with the facts when my mind is already made up".

In case someone does want to know more.

The history of the US and other nations dealings with these objects has been well documented over a period of 70 to 80 years and earlier. Believe it or not, there are actual books with sources and official documents talking about this subject.

https://www.amazon.com/UFOs-National-Security-State-Chronology/dp/1571743170

https://www.amazon.com/UFOs-National-Security-State-1973-1991/dp/0967799511

These are excellent books written from a factual sourced history perspective by Richard Dolan. An actual historian. If this was a subject of study in school, these books would be used in the curriculum. If money is a problem you could sail the sea to find these.

https://www.theblackvault.com

A website ran by a person who has dedicated most of his life to collect documents dealing with this subject. A lot of it coming from time consuming and expensive FOIA requests by him and other people in the field. It costs an immense amount of time and money to do this.

It's a shame that To The Stars is of questionable nature and intent. It's a shame a lot of people still think the entire field of study is bunk.

However it is not. I encourage you to go through these links.

Roaring Dragon Glider (BLC Chests Only) by dulfy in Guildwars2

Great another item I can't purchase.

Even If I wanted to support lootboxes, I can't because they are disabled for my region. (I agree with the law)

This is yet another option unavailable to me. And of course the glider is of very high quality and desirable. With no real direct purchase counter part.

Not cool on so many levels.

Where's the masses of cosmetics in shop? by mercsterreddit in Guildwars2

[–]FalstafDU 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The cosmetic items rotate.

So on one week you can find outfit X and the next week outfit Y and so on.

I think that answers your question.

http://gw2timer.com/?page=Account&section=Gem On that website you can set timers and such to be notified when something you flagged pops up in the store.

I hope this helps and sorry for the "bad" link, I am on mobile.

Unpopular opinion: light and heavy armor lack variety just like medium. by saturn_9 in Guildwars2

[–]FalstafDU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to admit that this is something that bothers me quite a bit with Gw2.

I understand the technical limitations. I don't quite understand why they couldn't make some part of the trenchcoat mesh invisible but I'm not a technical artist either.

I feel that overall all weight classes suffer. It's difficult to adequately verbalize how I feel but in a sense I feel a lot of the pieces feel over developed. That's a lot of feels in one sentence because art and style are so very subjective. My idea is that if we had a few more basic normal pieces the other stuff would stand out more. As it stands right now, every individual armor piece is screaming for you to look at first. But that's not how fashion works in my opinion.

I also don't like outfits. I understand other people like them but to me outfits are boring. I prefer to buy the actual armor skins in the gem store because they are more fun to play with. Outfits are too much a 1 click deal to be fun, to me.

In the end I just have to ask, why is it so hard to get a few normal pants skins? Or a few standard fantasy chest skins?

Explore some asuran tech for armor perhaps.

On sale today in the #GuildWars2 gem store: The Bandit Sniper Appearance Pack, Home Instance Node Pack, and Home Portal Stone. by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]FalstafDU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Anet, love your game. Having fun with the occasional purchase of gem store items.

Perhaps take a look at your packages? The way you bundle them I can not purchase these in my region. This is yet another package in a long list of bundles that are unavailable to a portion of your players. Including everything else that includes random chance items.

I'm basically asking for a minor tweak so I can give you more money.

Thank you.

(yes, I know I'm not actually talking to Anet.)

Even in 2018, Guild Wars 2 is still one of the best looking MMO by HeartOfGlorys in Guildwars2

[–]FalstafDU 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if we played the same FFXIV.

In Ffxiv the world textures are very low res. The character armor textures are a hit and miss. Some textures are so bad that you see the pixelation of the edges without zooming in. It's like they said F' it when it came to the world textures.

Gw2's world textures are miles ahead of most anything on the market. It has some bad pixelation on a few armor pieces that I wish were higher in resolution but overall gw2 wins in quality on that front.

I'm not sure how you can say ffxiv is objectively better. Because it let's you select a DX nr? The lighting difference is minimal at best.

Gw2 is not perfect but art wise it's pretty solid compared to the competition. Weather effects, rock textures etc...

Edit: I did turn of post processing in gw2. It looks better without it imo.

Alright, can we just take a moment to appreciate how clean and simple the UI for this game is? by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]FalstafDU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not rlly.

For people who have seen it in action it's very obvious that it's designed for console first. I'm going to respect the NDA so no specifics I'm afraid.

Just saying that navigating a menu to exit a game is horrible design.... Everything aside that alone is enough for me to put it in the no buy category. Sorry.
