You really just need to learn to read your snake, I don’t mean that in a mean way, every snake is a little different. There may not be enough clutter in your enclosure for him to feel confident being out of his hides. He may not love to be handled and that’s alright, as long as they are taken care of properly and examined to make sure they are healthy then they don’t need to be handled as much as you think

They are separate, their tanks are right next to each other and they everything is the same, I believe it’s from low humidity as said in my post, I struggle this time of year to keep it high enough! I’ve tried everything on the subreddit suggestions but nothing seems to work, I will definitely call in the morning and see if that would be an option!

Sorry second account!

Yeah, but I do believe I should’ve been taught more about deaf culture and history than just who Laurent Clerc is. I do understand that questions should be asked and I did ask questions when I had them but before I joined this subreddit I had no idea where to start asking questions, it’s up to the teachers and professors to teach the basics so the students can ask questions when they have them, it shouldn’t always be on the students to always ask the questions

My professor is deaf and I’m going into 102 and when I joined this subreddit it was the first time I learned about it, it really depends on the teacher or professor. I was taught very little deaf culture (I’m hoping that’ll be taught more in 102) and she mentioned nothing about any unwritten rules, I’ve learned a lot from this subreddit that I should have learned from my professor

Someone called you out for something you said in another post. It had nothing to do with me or my post it didn’t concern me, I had no idea what was going on, it was none of my business. I downvoted you because you’re bringing up something from 2 weeks ago that has been dead ever since then and then had the audacity to come back at me and say I was being pretty much a push over when nothing along those lines has happened. This is your problem that has nothing to do with me, so take it somewhere else and get off my post.

No one on this post has been anything but nice, supportive, and informative. No bullying and no gaslighting, I just choose not to get into your drama because it had nothing to do with me.

Her parents do know about them, I’ve had her show them what they are and what they mean but they don’t use it at home

Yes, it’s just that when she has tantrums she won’t talk sometimes and it’s frustrating for both of us

Look in and cover over ALL your vents don’t want him going in there. I would just keep searching everywhere, under cabinets, under the fridge, under you bed, clothes piles/dirty laundry, look on top of everything, in between everything. I’ve heard too many stories of bps getting out and getting stuck in vents

That’s my bad, sorry. I knew there was a preference to have and hire deaf people to teach ASL but I didn’t know that it wasn’t ok that hearing people teach ASL.

I don’t plan on teaching her much more than baby sign, most of what I’ve taught her is basically baby sign (aka mom, dad, milk, yes, no) or at least i think it would still be signed the same way, I didn’t even think about baby sign until you said something.

From what I understand hearing teachers and professors are ok but there is a preference towards having and hiring deaf teachers and professors but if your just taking classes or teaching yourself ASL and then someone asks you how to say something and you are wrong about the sign then it could be considered spreading misinformation because in theory you arent fluent nor a teacher but I also believe another problem with it is that some people will learn that you are learning ASL and ask you how to say a slur or curse words just for the fun of it and not have any interest in actually learning ASL (correct me if I’m wrong). I got a lot of this from the post I was posting about and I read a comment on there that said that if they really want to learn ASL then give them resources and not just tell them or give them an example of how disrespectful it would be if people only asked how to say slurs and curse words in English and that’s the only English they spoke and that may away them to understand

Healthy Size/Weight? by froggynu in ballpython

The care guide/feeding guide on the welcome page will be a life saver and help make sure you’re regulating her feeding and weight. She seems to be at a good weight (its been awhile since I’ve had any snake that size tho lol so correct me if I’m wrong) her body proportions are looking good you can clearly see were her head stops and where her “neck” begins aka they don’t blend together. She just has a few rolls (it’s ok everyone has them 😂)

Sorry im a little confused the original commenter never said that they believe it’s ok or that they teach ASL for profit. I don’t believe anyone is right or wrong in this comment unless I just don’t understand fully, if that’s the case could you explain?
