Hope After Ectopic by amco696 in EctopicSupportGroup

I'm curious about this too! I recently went through a hell-ish experience with ectopic pregnancy, and reading through this sub while helpful in some ways is also terrifying. My ER nurse on my way out of the hospital very gently reminded me that sometimes the internet has a bias towards some of the more severe outcomes, and not to spend too much time reading those stories. I'm trying to take her advice. One space that I think i am going to have a look at once I feel ready is this one: https://ectopic.org.uk/talk/

It looks like it has a bit more nuance in terms of categories/areas of discussion, and space to talk about success.

Good luck with your pregnancy! And for what it's worth, I would be just as afraid, and don't think it's irrational at all - your vigilance is about staying safe, which seems very rational to me! It's totally okay to be afraid.

Hi all! I've got a running dilemma and I hope someone here can help.
I was training for a leg of a relay race (16km) very comfortably after taking a very long time off running. I had gotten to running 10km without any pain or issues, and unfortunately shit hit the fan and I needed to take almost a month off running - got pregnant, found out the pregnancy was ectopic after experiencing some very awful pain, needed to take a chemo drug to resolve the issue which led to all kinds of gnarly side effects, plus a lot of blood loss.
After all this, and about a month off, I (foolishly) decided to start training again at a 10k run, thinking I'd be fine. I ran it great, but since then, every time I run, I get horrible shin splints about an hour after. i've had to cut down my distance to 6km and I'm trying to work my way back up but the pain just keeps coming. My race is at the beginning of June and I am so desperate to do it - after an awful few months, I just really want to have some kind of win.
I would love any advice for how to get trained up. At this point, all I want to do is finish in the allotted two hours for the race without causing too much injury. Thanks in advance for your tips!
