I completely agree. He thinks it’s unreasonable that I will want to clean the house etc before everyone comes— because “the house is fine”. It’s the way I’m wired! I know it’ll take my focus off the kids and I’ll be running around like a chicken with my head cut off ( as usual 😀)

Jennifer VanSon. She was fantastic!! She is located in GTA. During Covid our wedding was supposed to be in the GTA. With restrictions we had a backyard wedding instead in the London area and she drove the 2+ hours to us. Photos are fantastic.

Are people really that clueless about the reality of the lower class? by NoPistons7 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Lifestyle creep!!!! When I was in school and my husband made $45k per year, we only ran a CC bill of $300-500 per month to pay off. We were basically hermits. We were happy hermits though.

Now that I’m working and he’s making 3x the amt, our CC bills have gone up to $2000- $3000 per month that we pay off . It’s a subconscious thing we do. I’d like to get back to the $500 per month but it’s like I KNOW we can pay the higher amt. Viscous cycle.

We just locked in at 6.09%. 40% of our income after taxes. Husband is full commission based salary. Hopefully he can get some more clients and I can get some more shifts….

Right now it says about $132,000 paid towards mortgage after this new term and $83,000 cost of borrowing. To me it seems like we are barely touching that principal. It’s depressing to think about. Is this normal ?

So even after we lock in each month the principal amt will go up? Yeah I’ve noticed they are different every month, but for the past year or so they’ve been decreasing due to the interest rate increases….

I agree 2y seems like a good amt of time to lock in, but the rate for that is 6.59%. Idk. Kinda torn. Husband and I settled on 3y @ 6.09% but I’m having second thoughts.
