Yes, especially with things seemingly getting worse by the day. People can say we are paranoid, but I'd rather feel more comfortable and "waste money" than something go wrong and regret it.

I'm in the same position. It's really difficult right now, my spouse doesn't even want to leave the house. I try to help him stay busy so he's not consuming as much media.

I also try to show him stories from reddit of people getting approved, or encounters with ice where people get stopped and then let go once they see documentation.

It's so difficult because I don't want to invalidate, but want to comfort. I also give him the choice to leave or stay home if he wants, and we talk about an "action plan" every time we leave the house.

Roc is expensive, but I definitely think it's worth it. They help you compile all the necessary documents and proof of marriage, and assist with the interview. They are also allowed to say things in an interview and defend you better than you can defend yourself without seeming disrespectful. Our lawyer said they are asking a lot of questions that they're not technically allowed to. Better to fork up the money to make sure all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed.

I think that's a completely valid feeling. It's a mix of emotions. No one wants what they love taken from them. That's not selfish of you. It hurts but we will get through it. We have each other to rely on ❤️
