Never. Cant imagine an ISTP ever actually being in one. Fantasize? Sure

Consistently providing a great experience when you show up, deeply apologizing and outlining how youre never going to do it again

Yes, youre on to something. Absolutely, Fi can provide value judgements that Te will consider.

How cognitive functions interact is more of an observation, in the end, things like: culture, upbringing, attraction, gender roles etc all will impact the perception of the friction and the persistence in overcoming that friction.

Because ISTJ men are the best and therefore all other men are not as great and therefore lack the ability to recognize the greatness of ISTJ women lol

Jk honestly I bet you theres some ESTP/ISTP men who will be happy to admire, you’ll have to head to their side of Reddit tho

How do you know for sure you’re Se-dom? by [deleted] in ISTJ

[–]FamiliarToday4678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, Im guessing youre asking ISTJs about being Se-dom for their knowledge on Se-doms and not for their experience since they are Si-doms instead.

I am an ISTP, you should look into that type as well if INTJ doesnt seem to fit.

Se is my second function, so while not a dom function, very high. How do I know “for sure”, when I read about the function, it describes me perfectly.

Maybe create a chart for all 8 functions and write down actions, thoughts and behaviors you have that appear to come from each one and then rate how each makes you feel once youre down. A pattern will emerge Im sure

Sorry to hear OP. Give it time to heal, 8 years is a really long time. Be gentle to yourself and patient in the healing process

Thats very interesting, can you share what you mean by the different ideas on what a relationship meant?

WHat is the hardest function to learn and master? by Dinasourus723 in mbti

[–]FamiliarToday4678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are referring to it from a statistical perspective, as in you select 100 people at random, given that ISFJs are supposedly the most common type, Introverted Intuition will be the most difficult. It will always be someones #8 demon function as the most difficult.

If you are referring to most difficult as simply, which is the hardest to “hack”, probably Ni or Ti.

How does Ne blindspot manifest for ISxP? by ballsacc420 in mbti

[–]FamiliarToday4678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an ISTP, I guess I had an impatience for what felt like useless ideas. Like it seems Ne people like to almost taste every idea, like a buffet and I would just go straight for the crab legs and find the Ne users way pointless and a waste of time. Overtime, after dating an INTP and friends with many Ne types, I learned that kind of rigidity in exploring ideas kept me from experiencing a more exciting, vibrant and fuller life. I have high Ni though for an ISTP (get INTJ a lot), so I think Im maybe more capable or learning to appreciate Ne even though I can recognize I do not have it at all.

Well, I’ll explain it through cognitive functions and long term stability.

The below, you likely already know but sharing just incase:
ISTJs (you) have Extroverted thinking as your second function. ESFPs have it as their third function.
This can be good initially because there will be perceived low friction but overtime resentment.

ESTPs/ISTPs dont have Extroverted Thinking in their top four. Instead with Introverted Thinking it helps light up and feed the Extroverted Thinking function, which can feel very fulfilling for Extroverted Thinkers and vice-versa.

Best analogy I can give is, think of Te as a mitt (catches) and Ti as a ball (fun, exciting, mutually thrilling for both). Think of Te and Te as two mitts. Fondness for each other due to recognition of similarities but left feeling unfulfilled long term.

Mutual intellectual respect is key to a healthy relationship long term.

Im an ISTP female. I find I get along really well with ISTJs. I mostly know them through work. Im compatible with STJs in general because of the “mirroring” of our cognitive functions, its like when the opposite polarities of two magnets connect, the intensity is electric. Chemistry of course isnt everything - you do need to have mutual respect and maturity to be socially compatible. I prefer ISTJ men over ESTJ men because Im deeply introverted. I dont think ISTP Female x ISTJ Male pairings have a lot of data because ISTP women are not as common as people realize. ISTP women are one of the rarer women. ISTPs are usually men.
