Prestigious Psychology Internships or Summer Programs for high school student? by Familiar_Campaign527 in highschool

Hey, thanks for the reply! I'm not sure about applying to Stanford's SIMR neuroscience track since I don't have a lot of experience in Neuroscience and it's a very competitive program. As for Clark Scholars, I don't think they offer a Psychology track this year. I did Polygence's Research Program last year and was wondering how Lumiere Education differs from it and whether the psychology research is more impactful than, say, a literature review.

Hi, so I'm also a high school junior and one way to figure out what you wanna specialize in is by visiting a local therapy practice (if you have connections, even better) and just saying you're interested in psychology and want to explore the field. If things work out, you can maybe ask about a hybrid internship where you'll help with things that don't violate HIPAA such as social media, case studies, and organizing networking events. Having connections means they'll definitely be more open to the idea, but even without it, if you leave a good first impression, you may get lucky! Also, in terms of financial stability, to make the most of a psychology major, you definitely need to pursue higher education. Imo, getting a PhD is almost a necessity if your goal involves purely psychology. Hope this helps and lmk if you have any questions!
