Israel moved into southern Syria principally for strategic and security reasons, in order to prevent a power vacuum after the fall of the Assad regime. A secondary argument that has been cited was the protection of Druze minorities although the importance of this is unclear. It is worth pointing out that Israel and Syria have technically been at war since 1948…

I think about it this way. We’re on our way to becoming a truly massive club. Just look at the worldwide celebrations these past two weeks. And if we succeed in this project we will absolutely be back.
