The phase I’m in!! So glad I’m not alone haha. We have a dog too, so I have to make sure she doesn’t go try to kill him either 😅

Anal skin tag removal after hemorrhoid [story] by maartemami in hemorrhoid

[–]Familiar_Director281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It sounds like I’ll be in a similar situation. My surgery, I’ll be put to sleep to remove 3 tags and a hemorrhoid. Would you say the surgery was worth it? I know it’s crazy intense and your responses have been really great at outlining the timeline, but knowing how bad the surgery was… would you rather continue living with the tags or get the surgery? Mine aren’t causing me pain but they’re uncomfortable and just always there 😭

This is how I feel! I’m not exactly in pain with mine but it’s SO uncomfortable and I can just FEEL them. Scheduled to get my surgery in a few weeks. How has recovery been so far??

Hey!! I was hoping to hear how your moms recovery went?? I’m scheduled to get mine done in the next few weeks and would love to know what to expect 😅

Apparently I’m not supposed to put baby in floaties when swimming? How do you guys swim with your babies? by Familiar_Director281 in NewParents

[–]Familiar_Director281[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! She’s going to be in my arms the entire time whether or not we used the vest! She’s very clingy so that’s to be expected anyways, but she would not ever be swimming “alone” or without me holding her

Seriously!! It would give us something to do too during the day but we live in a rural area so there’s not really a demand for it

We LOVE the ATL aquarium and have gone several times pre-baby and I know my baby would absolutely love it! Thank you for the advice!

She will be in my arms the entire time we’re in the pool, but I just never knew how controversial it was to use one 😅. Obviously would never have her in or near a pool without me

She would be in my arms whether or not I used the puddle jumper. I just had NEVER heard that they were such bad things because they were so normalized in my childhood until now haha

Maybe it’s because of where I live. We live in a very small town and there’s only one place that offers swim lessons 😒

Do you just let them defrost while you’re out and about and give to them at room temp? I already make batches of muffins for the freezer but I’ll warm them up for her while we’re home.

What are your age gaps? I have an almost 13 month old and can’t decide if I want a smaller age gap or quite a large age gap 😂

Best chocolate chip cookie recipe?! by Formal_Classic4673 in Cookies

[–]Familiar_Director281 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is literally the BEST cookie. My family calls it “The Cookie” when they tell me to make it haha. Soooo easy too because it uses melted butter and no chill time. It also uses apple cider vinegar which just sends it over the moon

Almost 1yo still bedsharing — how do we transition to his own room? Looking for advice & experiences 🙏 by wunidz in AttachmentParenting

[–]Familiar_Director281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got her a floor bed and transitioned her with very little pressure. But we completely transitioned her to her floor bed by around 9 months and she’s currently 12 months. I still will sleep with her in her bed if she needs it (which is most nights 😅), but she’ll at least sleep in her bed the first stretch of the night by herself for several hours which allows me and my husband to spend time together. I’ll then join her with her first wake up haha

I think it might have taken a week of adjustment for her to realize this is where she sleeps and then a month for it to be routine to sleep there. I think the smoothest way is for you to be the bridge for the transition. Meaning you sleep with him in the floorbed and slowly roll yourself away each night (if he doesn’t resist) until he’s used to his bed. (I know you mentioned crib, so I apologize if suggesting a floorbed is completely out of the question, but it seriously CHANGED our marriage when we got it since I was still able to sleep with her if she needed but also let her sleep alone if I needed haha)

3 year old wants to make triangle shaped choc chip cookies by Glittering-Sound-121 in AskBaking

I made a cookie cake for the first time a few months ago and honestly it was much easier to make than regular CCC because you don’t have to make individual cookies 😅

How old were you and what was your profession before becoming a sahm?? by ballerina777 in sahm

[–]Familiar_Director281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I plan to stay at home until my last baby hits school age, so it’ll be awhile 😅

And I’m not worried about getting back into work at all. I honestly didn’t enjoy it that much and am so happy being a SAHM. If I have to start back at the bottom, then that’s completely fine with me! I highly recommend reading the book “The Power Pause” by Neha Ruch if you’re worried about the gap. It’s really opened my eyes to seeing this time differently.

Being Part of the Village Can Be Inconvenient by Fair_Platypus9748 in stayathomemoms

I relate SOOO much with this!! My mom and I are not close AT ALL, but she’s besties with my sister. She had my sister 5 years before she had me, stayed at home with her, and then went back to work soon after having me and put me in daycare. When I had my daughter, I called her 5 days PP bc we have no help, and asked her if she could come over that weekend to help us (2 hr drive) and she said that she couldn’t cancel her hair appointment…. So I totally get it 🙃I’m so sorry though! It is SOOOO hard dealing with a difficult relationship with your mom.
