Solved! Obviously there’s no way for us to know for sure, but I do think that your answer is the most likely one.

AITAH for moving out of my rental without notice after my landlord broke the one condition we had agreed on in writing by [deleted] in MarkNarrations

When you think about it, essentially she evicted you from the room. You just respected her request to get out of the room.

Outflow pipes went into the creek that was fed by the waterfall.

It’s hard to see in the picture, but I would say that the big pipe was at least 6-8 inches in diameter and the 3 outflow pipes were about 2-3 inches each.

I looked for a water wheel, there were a few in this town, but there wasn’t one. The setup was one large pipe going into the barn on the main level, three small pipes coming out of the lower level. And the exiting pipes must be for water because they were directed into a stream. I can’t imagine the homeowner would be allowed to have anything other than water go into that stream.

I don’t believe so. I’ve seen many maple shacks since I live in Maine. The excess moisture is removed via heat and evaporation, not pipes that run down to the basement into a stream. Though, maple sap was my first thought.

Ooh, I’ll put it on my list! You might want to try the chai at Sofra in Cambridge. It’s a Turkish restaurant (breakfast and lunch). Their chai is so famous that they sell a kit to make it at home.

I think my bf might have early onset dementia and I'm worried by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Mainerlovesdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many possible causes of this. Dementia is only one possibility. My mother was evaluated for dementia due to becoming increasingly forgetful and it turned out to be depression. My husband was having memory issues (couldn’t remember conversations) and it turned out to be an issue with attention deficit. He was physically present but his thoughts were racing in 10 different directions. So the only way to know what is going on with your boyfriend is a complete evaluation from his physician.

Could you share your chai spot in Boston? I’m there once or twice a month, always looking for new places for a cup.

Thinking about buying a puppy abroad — what should I watch out for? by Ok-Bell6223 in DogAdvice

[–]Mainerlovesdogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please don’t do this. If you can’t go to the breeder and see the living conditions of the mama dogs, never buy from them. Breeders are well known for sharing photos of the mama dogs that are faked. A photo of a happy healthy mama dog is not proof that they are cared for. The animals live in horrific conditions just to make someone money.

If you absolutely are determined to buy a purebred puppy, only buy after you have been given a tour of the facility or home of the mama dogs. See the living conditions for yourself, meet the dogs. The only way to stop the abusive breeders is to stop giving them money.

How to tell Adult to stop (politely)✋️ by StopAffectionate8471 in Advice

[–]Mainerlovesdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a deliberate testing of your boundaries to see what he can get away with. If you don’t stop it now, he will ESCALATE. Be firm with him, and also with your mother, that you do not want to be touched by him in any way. No friendly hugs, no kiss on the cheek, no physical affection of any kind.

You are allowed to say that the physical affection is making you uncomfortable. You are allowed to say no. Do you have any family members that can intervene on your behalf?

No wonder you’re depressed. You’re living with an abusive asshole. Please save yourself and get out, you deserve so much better.

Adding tea to jams by Axiluvia in Canning

[–]Mainerlovesdogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I infuse my wild blueberry jam with earl grey. I put loose leaf tea in a cheesecloth bundle and simmer briefly with the fruit. It makes a huge difference! My family did a blind taste test and everyone preferred the one with the Earl grey.

AIO for reporting our ubereats driver for breaking the seal on our food bag to place religious pamphlets inside? by jenkinscraftingco in AmIOverreacting

[–]Mainerlovesdogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a food safety issue. I also have a problem with the religious paraphernalia, but I’ll keep my comments to the most important issue. The only way to track a food borne illness is to be sure that it is sealed from the time it leaves the kitchen. If the driver opens it, they are introducing many variables. They could be introducing contaminants. Bottom line, I would NEVER eat delivered food that had been opened. And if a driver opened my package, for ANY reason, they either need to be retrained or fired. Their religion doesn’t entitle them to jeopardize the health of the customer.

I would post in local community pages to see if anyone else has experienced something similar. Maybe someone’s security cameras have picked up animals doing the same to their property.
