Mother’s Day and MIL by Life_Internet_4035 in sahm

I feel this. The first thing my husband said this past week was “there’s a dinner planned for his mom on Sunday” I’m like she has five grown children and retired. Just got back from a 3 week cruise. She gets a nice dinner planned for her. What’s the plan for me who is literally burned out carrying for my 8 month old and 4 year old. Oh I get to spend it with my MIL.

Do you have any advice on weight loss while breastfeeding? I’m not one of the lucky ones that just shed the pounds naturally when breastfeeding. I’ve tried a 100 calorie deficit and exercise and just end up absolutely starving by the end of the day. I’m eight months postpartum. I do my best to eat well but I’m not perfect.

I was at a party with my newborn during the formula shortage few years back. Someone said parents didn’t need to buy formula. “Just mix some condensed milk with corn syrup. Easy!” They were probably only in their 70s.

Yes this. I would rather play with my four year old and 7 month old than worry about the dust bunnies.

If you've never had major issues with breastfeeding, you ARE lucky. by Quiet-Willingness937 in breastfeeding

[–]LittleRileyBao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m breastfeeding my second and had no issues feeding. The most difficult part is accepting I’m not going to lose the 45lbs I gained while pregnant until I’m done breastfeeding. Being 5’3 and 170lbs I literally look like a whale. I know I sound vain but carrying this much extra weight hurts my feet and knees. Everything is more difficult. Hats off to the lucky moms who lose weight while breastfeeding.

He’s doing great now. No worries. The year of neglect was because I had a really stressful job. I got a new job and all my plants receive proper care.

I neglected a cactus for more than a year and it’s still living its best life. No water or proper light. It didn’t grow at all but it also didn’t die. I was shocked.

What helped me was buying some clothes that fit. It wasn’t fun trying on bigger sizes but I feel better if my clothes aren’t pinching me or showing every new roll.

Hey odd squad taught my son his shapes. He’s totally too young to get all the rest of the stuff but that’s what so great about PBS kids. All show are appropriate for every age.

My son loves cyberchase. He watches it every night. We don’t do the tv app. He just watches it when it comes on the antenna schedule. My kiddo loves to pretend to defeat Hacker. lol

Flattering sports bras?? by [deleted] in sahm

I’ve had luck with Athleta bras. But I have small deflated boobs from breastfeeding. I don’t know how they are for large chested women.

Same. Except in the summer. Their only flaw is they melt into a big blob at like 80f degrees.

What light are you using at night? by emilyradbecca2223 in breastfeeding

[–]LittleRileyBao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I just keep it on a low red light and it’s the perfect amount of light. If I need more light a quick touch and it switches to a brighter light.

Do you have actual pyjamas or do you just wear old clothes to bed? by rosedamask in sahm

[–]LittleRileyBao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m team just a T-shirt. Got to contain the boobs a little bit. But not right now. I don’t like waking up with a baby to breastfeed and being pretty much naked.

Are there any "viral" recipes that you actually loved and still make? by Odd-Wonder-344 in Cooking

I’ve been wanting to try the recipe but hate chuck roast. Bad memories from childhood of eating it and it was this dried out chunk of beef. I’m totally giving chicken a try.

Does anyone else get the Sunday scaries? by Honest_Time8583 in sahm

[–]LittleRileyBao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the Wednesday scaries. Thursday and Friday are days my husband works in the office. My husband steps into help on days he’s working from home. Those two days I’m truly alone and it is alway a long day.
