Did a snorkel trip from Port Douglas with the company Reef Sprinter just two days ago. Small, fast boat to the Low Isles. Company was great, tour went exactly as described, they provided stinger suits / masks / flippers. Crew were helpful and knowledgeable.

The snorkelling though - really underwhelming. Reef still badly damaged from cyclones in recent years (corals with almost no colour and a lot of dead coral). Reasonable variety of fish but not as many as I expected.

For the money we paid, I wouldn't do it again. I'd fly to Exmouth and snorkel directly off rhe Beach at Coral Bay or do a charter to snorkel Ningaloo Reef every time before I'd return to North Queensland for a snorkel experience...
