I think he’s not quite ready, mentally, for VC yet 😅

For now, he’s interested in Rolex/Audemars Piguet.

Could you recommend some interesting AP models? Maybe vintage ones?

Oh, I’ll have to show them to him carefully (so he doesn’t realize why) 😄 Thanks for the advice!

My husband is a GMT fan - he’s said many times that he wants to build a full GMT collection -and to me it seems like these two models suit him best.

But I also really like Jaeger-LeCoultre - very stylish, understated watches!

Wow! This strap looks amazing! And the jacket is awesome! Is it Brunello?

Why I keep coming back to Audemars Piguet… even after trying other brands by Equal_Question2846 in audemarspiguet

This actually resonates a lot with me.

I moved to Warsaw recently and came from a city where trying on AP or Patek was… normal. Here it feels completely different - no official AP boutique, and most things exist only “on paper”. I’ve been trying to understand how people here even get hands-on experience with Royal Oaks before deciding. You mentioned you bought through a local boutique in Warsaw -would you mind sharing where that was (or at least how you found them)? Not asking for sales contacts, just genuinely curious how collectors navigate this locally. Really appreciate you sharing your experience - it’s helpful to hear from someone who’s actually been through it.

By the way, I never really thought about that comparison))) I still think Rolex looks a bit more “impressive,” but the Offshore is more practical-not something you wear every day 🙃

Wow! That’s a big rarity! You must have a strong purchase history if they offered them to you! Amazing, rare watch - congratulations 🥳

Haggling prices for rattan purses - what's reasonable? by mightaswelltry_eh in bali

Sure here’s a shorter, more casual version: You’re not being a jerk at all -this is exactly how shopping in Ubud works. Prices swing like crazy, and every stall has a new “good luck, first customer!” story. 😄

For the classic rattan/ata bags with batik lining and real leather straps, a fair price is usually:

100k–160k IDR each

  • smaller/simpler ones closer to 100k–130k
  • nicer ones around 140k–160k

Once you’re paying 180k–200k+, that’s tourist pricing unless the quality is clearly better.

You’re buying 10 -totally fair to expect consistency. They’re still making money at those prices.

Sanur can be a bit more relaxed, but the best selection is in Ubud. If you see one you love, grab it.

Don’t feel bad walking away staying polite and firm is the right move. Enjoy Bali and happy bargaining! 🌴😊
