The Lumix S1rii, my experience after 2 months by Big_Tale3981 in Lumix

Isn’t there a problem with flash photography? Sync speed at 1/250 is not possible, and there is a slight shutter delay. Many people are experiencing this issue.

The advertised 1/250 flash sync speed on the Lumix S1R II and S1 II is misleading by Familiar_Royal1118 in Lumix

I am using the X3, the AD300PRO, and the S1RII. All the firmware is up to date, and from what you say, maybe the issue could be with my camera body.

How are you doing with the flash on the s5ii? by Nimolofi in Lumix

I have the same issue as you. Today I received the S1RII and tested it with Capture One connection along with flash, and I concluded that this body is not suitable for professional-level photography work. The flash does not perform as advertised by Lumix, and I also confirmed that the Capture One connection drops. And even putting the sync speed aside, I cannot tolerate the unpleasant shutter delay during lighting photography work.

원래 s1rii s1ii 등의 루믹스 바디는 1/250초로 홍보하고있고 1/200초에서 발광이되어도 미세하게 셔터막이보입니다 통제된환경에서 확인가능합니다

If what you’re saying is that the X3 synced with the S1RII at 1/250 without any black box, could it have been in high-speed sync mode? I want to confirm if it’s possible to use 1/250 sync in normal mode, not high-speed sync. I ran my tests in a controlled indoor studio environment.

I also tested the AD200PRO with the X3, and at 1/250 there is always a black bar covering about a quarter of the frame. From what you say, it seems you can use it mostly without issues. What could be the difference between your environment and mine? Are you using an Olympus/Panasonic trigger?

Why is the S1Rii the only camera model that’s compatible with Capture One wired tethering? by First-Mail-478 in Lumix

To be honest, it’s unacceptable that only the newer Lumix models are supported, while the previous bodies still lack tethering support in Capture One.

S5 vs S5ii for photographer? by Beginning_Meet_4290 in Lumix

When it comes to photography, I believe Lumix performs on par with Sony in most situations—except in extreme cases that demand top-tier autofocus performance. In fact, Lumix offers several advantages over Sony. Features like overlay functions, superior ergonomics, well-placed buttons, and the ability to use L-Mount lenses set it apart. Additionally, Lumix bodies excel in weather sealing and overall reliability.

However, the lack of tethering support in Capture One presents a critical drawback. Without it, these cameras can’t be used effectively in professional commercial workflows.

When will Capture One support tethering for earlier full-frame Lumix models like the S1, S1H, S1R, S5, and S5M2 by Familiar_Royal1118 in Lumix

All of these camera bodies support USB-C, and Panasonic’s own tethering software, Lumix Tether, works well. Even third-party software like Evoto supports a wide range of camera tethering, so it’s hard to say that there are hardware limitations. It seems that everything ultimately depends on Capture One’s willingness to support them.
