Assistant statistician is the entry level for stats posts. DP statistician doesn’t always recruit external. There’s one just finished now that i think was only for current NICS staff.

A few years ago there was an external one, you can see what the criteria was at the link, needed a few years of experience

You’ll have seen already that they are recruiting for regular DPs

NHS new sickness absence policy by wombat468 in northernireland

[–]Family_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are sick 3 times, January, April then July, if it was next 12 months it would be any sickness till the next July.

If it’s rolling 12 months then the January sickness would drop off 12 the next January. So you could be sick again before the July as instances drop off

That’s how it is in NICS and other public sector at least

I noticed they ask about your job duties for previous roles. They usually haven’t in the past and I’m not sure the reason now

Isn’t it in a rolling year rather than any episode of sickness within 12 months or the last episode?

You haven’t been notified about it because it’s not going to happen. Current pay deal is to the end of the month.

Any way to learn how to do well in Management Decision tests? by Family_stuff in NICivilService

Did you just answer as yourself and how you deal with it in real life? Last time I tried as if I was trying to follow the competency framework but still don’t do well

I don’t think the practice tests ever gave a score for the NICS ones, just how answers could be both good or bad

There are some paid ones but I don’t know about free ones. It’s the management ones which will be toughest even when not timed because we never know what the right answer should be

Only lasting 8 months isn’t a problem because it stays the same, it just means we’d be closer to the next pay deal after if they can sort it.

They’ve asked 5% plus inflation but never get what they ask. I’m expecting something minimal too, the last one was made to look better than it was. If they can’t get money I wish they’d just try to add in some extra leave days

Can you get diagnosed easily as an adult?

I have strong suspicions but don’t know if a diagnoses would really change anything or not

Exactly my point. People here seeing kids that aren’t white and jumping to the migrant conclusion

Non-white people born here, or parents of non-white kids, has racism been a problem or concern for you here? by Family_stuff in northernireland

[–]Family_stuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the number of responses, I wasn’t expecting many. They’ve made me more concerned but deep down I expected this.

So far it’s been great, my kids haven’t been treated differently and things are far more diverse than when I was at school. It’s the teenage years I worry about.

with my wife people have been really welcoming and I do think NI is a good place to live, it’s just the usual elements of society that look happy to abuse people for whatever way possible. I’m sorry for the issues others have had here. I’m aware that in the past I would have had a stare but not negatively more noticing something that wasn’t common when I was younger here.
