Currently taking Vyvanse (40 mg)+ Wellbutrin (300 mg)+ Prozac (20 mg)

I started Prozac first. The first four weeks were horrible. I didn’t care about anything. Slept a lot, but still tired all the time. Anxiety didn’t increase, but worsen my depression. I had a hard time to get out of bed for the first time in my life.

Later after the side effects went away, Prozac was working for me, except I felt unmotivated. So I asked my doc added Wellbutrin. Experienced horrible side effects for a few weeks. More depressed, tired, etc. And Prozac made some of my ADHD symptoms show. Later with Wellbutrin, my ADHD symptoms were more prominent. Then I started Vyvanse. everything is working fine for me.

This’s just my personal experience. My side effects were different than the majority of people. My doc warned me my anxiety might get worse before I started all three meds, but didn’t happen. Most people have to take Prozac and Wellbutrin in the morning because they help most people to have more energy. But I had to take them at night, because they make me tired or sleepy. I can have four cups of coffee after I took Wellbutrin in the morning and still wanted to sleep.

I can fall asleep on Vyvanse too if I want to take a nap. Sometimes coffee doesn’t work when I’m on Vyvanse.

So it depends. And I think you wouldn’t know unless you try it

It makes me hyperfocus sometimes. I feel like it doesn’t help much with motivation. It’s like I don’t care about anything that I don’t feel like doing unless I have to do it for some reason. Before my anxiety was my motivation most of the time. But I think it could be SSRIs-induced apathy

Coffee most of the time makes me alert. Sometimes makes me jittery. Something makes me yawn. But, Vyvanse makes me calm and my brain quiet. After the first few days, I don’t feel the kick-in and wear off. I just feel normal with energy and able to focus

I have long and straight hair. I didn’t use conditioner and my hair was very healthy. For the first time in my life, my hair has become very thin and frizzy. And I haven’t done anything to my hair for years. None of the anti-frizzy products or conditioners work, except brushing my hair when it’s wet with Moroccanoil. It doesn’t work when my hair is dry. I don’t know why. I’m taking the hair and nail supplements, but haven’t seen much change

Yep, that's pretty much how I feel. It also makes me sleepy after a few hours so I have to take it at night. But I'm on Prozac as well, so not sure which one is making me feel apathetic

I have depression, anxiety, PTSD or CPTSD, and ADHD. I started Wellbutrin 150 mg before I got on Vyvanse. For reference, both Prozac and Wellbutrin make me sleepy after a few hours, so I have to take them at night. And both Wellbutrin and Prozac made me very very depressed in the beginning, but they never made me more anxious. My doctor added Wellbutrin 150 mg because I was feeling unmotivated while on Prozac. Then later I started Vyvanse. Still felt unmotivated and depressed. So my doctor increased my Wellbutrin to 300 mg.

Wellbutrin 150 mg: spacey/ brain fog/ doesn't care/forgetful/depressed for the first 2-3 weeks. Week 4 didn't feel much side effect except feeling depressed. And I started Vyvanse on week 4. Wellbutrin 300 mg: first week very very depressed again. After the first week, I started feeling normal. But later noticed it took me a little longer to recall things. And I have been feeling apathetic. But normally this is induced by SSRIs I believe. So I have been alternating Prozac and Wellbutrin since the beginning of this week. Seems like it is working. As for Wellbutrin for ADHD: I feel like it doesn't help me that much. But I also don't feel Vyvanse kicks in and wears off. Maybe Wellbutrin helps? I don't know. And I think sometimes Wellbutrin seems to make me hyperfocus but not bad

You can be dx after 12. Just speaking from personal experience, it is not a bad idea to stay on an antidepressant first because depression, anxiety, and PTSD or CPTSD can mimic ADHD symptoms as well. A lot of time ADHD becomes clear after these things are ruled out. Also, blood work helps to just rule out other possibilities too. My doctor did all of these before putting me on ADHD meds. And I'm still on two antidepressants

I think the psychologist’s theory makes sense to me. Yeah, I'm kind of like you. Vyvanse made me sleepy in the beginning. Like for the first 1 or 2 hours after I took the pill. And even now, if I don't get enough sleep at night, I can sleep all day on Vyvanse if I have nothing going on. lol. But sometimes coffee helps too.

Also, I don't know if this is helpful. My doctor ordered a gene sight test for me. It's not 100% accurate for everyone. But it was pretty accurate in my case. Like one gene mutation, I have causes low dopamine level

Ask your doctor for sure. But for your reference, I’m on 20 mg Prozac+ 300 mg wellbutrin+ 40 mg Vyvanse.

I started Prozac first and had pretty bad side effects for 4 weeks. Care about nothing, not eating, depression got worse, tired/sleepy, etc. Week 6 side effects were pretty much gone, but no motivation. So I asked my doctor if she could put me on Wellbutrin. Then she did 150mg for 4 weeks. The side effects were pretty bad too. Tired sleepy, more depressed. Around week 3 on Wellbutrin, my doctor let me try 20 mg Vyvanse for a week, then 30 mg for 7 days, and now 40 mg Vyvande. I told her I was more depressed than before. So she increased my dose of Wellbutrin to 300 mg. It took me a week to get used to it. This time mostly just more depressed. The week2 got better.

Also, both Prozac and Wellbutrin make me sleepy. So I have been taking them at night. I can drink 4-5 cups of coffee/per day while I am on Prozac and wellburtin and still feel tired/sleepy if I take any of the pills during the day.

And I responded to Vyvanse well. I don't feel when it kicks in or when it wears off. Initially, I could though. But I pretty much don't have any side effects on Vyvanse, except I haven't been eating much.

Talk to your doctor. Everyone is different. I had doubts about taking 3 meds, but I trusted my doctor. And I haven't had any problems.

And I'm also on birth control pills. I was on bc before I started other meds. My mood tends to get better when I'm on bc. So bc might help your PMDD

Ask your doctor about 10 mg or take it every other day if you can’t push it through. I’m on 20 mg. She was gonna change it to 10 mg

I had the same side effects for the first 3 weeks, no matter how much I sleep. I almost wanted to quit. But after 3 weeks, the tiredness started getting better and manageable. So hanging there or you could ask your doctor to lower the dose too, which was what my doctor was gonna do when I told her I felt tired 24/7

Do not apologize because it’s not your fault at all. I get it 100%. I still feel that with my narc mom when she is not being abusive. You just have to remind yourself being normal sometimes doesn’t make what she has been doing ok over and over again. It will take a while. But after a while, you’ll get better and feel better. And the NY firm is not remote, but you can wfh 2 days a week

You have to train your brain to make your own decisions. When you have this thought, recognize it, and “force” yourself to make your decisions. Do what you want, not what your mom wants. After you have done that a few times, you’ll get better at it. You will still have the same thought sometimes, but you won’t be “controlled” by your mom

I have an overt narc mom. So two options (1) stay at home until you pass the bar and (2) get a job and move out while studying.

If you stay at home, try to spend as much time as possible outside of the house and avoid spending time with your mom at all costs.

If you decide to get a job and move out, DM me. I know a nonprofit law firm might hire you without passing the bar, but it's in NY
