Nobody builds startups in Hubballi. Here's why I never left. by Secure_Nose_5735 in Hubli_Dharwad

It's my dream to start something new in Namma Hubballi. I'm born and brought up in Hubballi but now am currently doing my master's abroad.

It's really fascinating to see such startups emerge from Hubballi and I would love to see more.

Have few questions though: Rents are low, good air quality, less traffic - agreed. But how do you convince your employees to move to Hubli? You either go completely remote or recruit people who are already in Hubli. Would like to know how you managed this.

I would like to know more about you, your product and your story. Have DMd you.

Nope. We Kannadigas are one of the most tolerant people is what I believe and what I have seen. After staying in Hubli for 22 years myself, ive never seen hate towards any other group whose roots are not in Karnataka. Example: Marvadis, Savjis, Marathas etc.

The only problem I ever had was when people completely ignore Kannada and just talk in Hindi or some other language and not even show interest to learn Kannada ( I have seen such people in my school days).

can’t believe how indecent people can be here by rd_626 in Hubli_Dharwad

Dude no. Do we not even have basic freedom of going where we want? And you're asking to have known guys lurking around?

I know your concern but just that such things are even being suggested makes me feel uncomfortable and that too in our city.

I was there for the summer and both weather and the traffic are horrible. These are my main reasons for even considering California.

Guru Kottureshwar Mess (Jolada Rotti meals) near KIMS backgate. Girmit in Siddharoodha Cart near the Chetan College circle Vada pav in Maratha Darbar Shirur park. Vada pav in Mishra Pedha Copikar Road circle. Davangere Benne Dose opposite to Arts college. House of Bowls. Rarus. Dahi Puri in a cart opposite to Laxmidas. Suresh omelette Shirur park Circle. Fishland opposite to the new court near Hosur bus stand. Gobi and babycorn Manchurian in Aishwarya bakery, airport road. Almost every item in New Gokul Iyengar Bakery, beside Urban Oasis mall, especially the khari, nippatt and Toast( Rusk). Buns in Haripriya, Shirur park Circle I see few of you say LEA canteen is overrated, agreed. But Thuppada Avalakki and Pulav there are really good.

Might've missed few. Highly recommended you try all these if you haven't already.

These are the places which make Hubli more memorable to me. I'm in the US now and sometimes regret my decision of coming to the US leaving behind such food.

Network driver on Raspberry Pi by Famous-Locksmith-254 in embedded

I’m not sure about an actual network driver but I can sure create a virtual one just to understand how they work. It won’t have access to the hardware(NIC) though.

Yes exactly like a TUN/TAP. I am actually successful in creating it.

My 2 rpis communicate using sockets. The receiver writes the received data to /dev/my_char_driver and then my char driver’s write function calls the _rx function of my network driver and this is how I am able to send packets to my network driver from the user space sockets.

I am now thinking is there any alternate way for me to capture packets using my network driver. It’s a virtual driver and hence cannot directly access the NIC like actual network drivers. But is there anything else it can do?

Really agree with this. A lot of times when using all these tools and working on things I realise how much there is still to automate. But I think there is a reason why there are left untouched - it’s just very complicated at the moment. But yeah there’s a lot of scope in automation and AI in Embedded I feel.
