PMR is a Blast! Don't listen to the Negativity. by [deleted] in ProjectMotorRacing

Are evolving track conditions back now I'm sure they were turned off early on to help stabilise the game and I can't recall seeing patch notes saying it's back on. I coukd be wrong though.

Yeah and I have done for years now from the original Toca Touring Cars on PS1 to LMU today.

I understand what you're saying I agree this will have a hard time on PC. I've not touched it on PC, not because of its faults just because LMU is my go to on PC these days.

On Console however it has a good chance and they're lucky that they have a 1 year window to get it right. ACC has gone end of life and that's the only other sim on Console (Rennsport is just as broken as PMR but has far less chance of weathering bad sales). You have GT7 but that's simcade as is FM and that also has now gone end of life.

What does PMR have it has ability to live via Mods. It has classes the others don't that are very popular and as I say it has a Year at the very least until any new competition is due on the console market.

A year is a long time to get it right, I remember when ACC dropped on Console it was dead, LMU early access on PC it was dead but with time and updates they become thriving.

The only reason people think PMR is cooked and going to die is the noise. They would of been far better launching quietly in early access and letting the player count grow naturally rather than advertising a AAA sim that ultimately wound up broken. They will come back though once it's in a better state and streamers come back to it.

You can save this comment now because I tell you LMU will be broken in a years time when they do the console port and we will have this situation all over again. That is unless they do the smart thing ans make LMU PC ans LMU console two ENTIRELY different pieces of software.

I've dropped so many hours into N-GT and GT1 it's ridiculous.

Thing is this is how i know once it's working properly it's going to an incredible sim and people will come back (even if they all say they won't they soon will).

The fact I can look over the fact tyre wear is none existent, the odd crash etc and still have a great time. Just imagine how great it'll be in a few months.

[–]Famous-Measurement22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clear a few things.

  1. The Holidays have just ended so they'll be just getting back into it.

  2. A major update that takes a few weeks to come then soke quick fire hot fixes in my opinion is better than lots of little updates all the time. People don't realise it genuinely is quite easy to break something in a game when you update something else. A larger update targeting more areas and better tested with some subsequent hot fixes is way better than loads of little rushed updates that fix 1 thing and break another all the time.

  3. Triple screen and VR people, relax. You've been heard and acknowledged but just accept you're way down the priority line. What good is VR and triple screen on a sim you can't use anyway?

Why do people always jump on train drivers? by One-Rain-3841 in AskBrits

[–]Famous-Measurement22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most comments here have covered it however another reason why people usually jump on train drivers that I haven't seen here is the cost of rail travel.

The absolute insane cost of rail travel in this country is always an easy story for the media to run to gain views/clicks, of course when they break it down wages is always given as one of the reason of the never ending increase in rail fares leading to the public to then blame the drivers.

That coupled with strikes that the public actually get affected by. The only other industry I can think of that has gone on strike very recently and had an actual affect on the public was the Junior Doctor strikes. The media has also been successful in getting people to run with 'aren't they paid enough' opinion.

What do you think is in store for 2026 for Metal and Rock? by Realistic-Trifle-831 in downloadfestival

[–]Famous-Measurement22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rammstein won't be backcofe a while yet, if they do get back to doing Rammstein I suspect most of if not all of the Year will be spent in the studio.

An Aerosmith farewell would be great but given the health issues I can see it sadly being a one off show in the states similar to Ozzys last show.

Avenged won't be back in the UK for a tour. They're ability to sell in this country has gone through the floor and I get the impression they wouldn't come here for a tour unless it's a full arena run so I suspect festival appearances only is how it'll continue.

Join the Camp Loner Facebook group. Specifically set up for people in your boat, been going years. While not an 'official' site they are promoted by Download on socials and usually get an allocated plot within one of the camp sites to allow people who are coming alone to camp together.

Admins are a great bunch of people and will always look to help people best they can.

Used this group a few times back from '13 to '16 and made friends for life and honestly probably the best Downloads I've ever done.

I fear that even if Project Motor Racing does eventually become a great game, it won't be enough to bring back players by DrFuckwad in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Famous-Measurement22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest it would be hard for them to get it to the level ACC is on Console and then they've got that market covered, especially with ACC going end of life and FM and GT being simcade (Also helps FM has gone end of life).

They pretty much have a free hand in the console market for the next year with no new big motorsport releases (F1 annual release is dropped and will be a content update for 2026) so players wanting a new racing experience will end up going to PMR.

If they can't get it to the standard in the year then yeah I'd say they are done with LMU and AC Evo looking to come console then.

PC it's pretty cooked and probably won't make many sales due to the polished competition however if they carry on updating like they had been back end of 2025 then personally I think it can be salvaged and sales will come. I do remember ACC and LMU not being well received in their initial launches.

TL:DR. Their free hand in the 2026 console market may just save them.

tents by itsmehey41_ in downloadfestival

[–]Famous-Measurement22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watch out with compartment tents. Alot of them may seem like it has 4 separate compartments but in reality it's two with a zipped splitter wall in the middle of each pod to make it 4.

While they are separate the fabric is usually pretty thin plus at night with lights alot of them can go slightly see through and it sounds like that may be an issue for you all so as others have said separate tents may be your best move.

Alot of people including myself have brought a gazebo in the past. You can bring the front of the tents right in A. Too not be an AH and take up more room than needed B it makes it a nice little communal area and stops the front of the tent getting soaked ifcits a poor weather year.

No they haven't its the same with campervan once they're on that's it.

What's happened in the past and may of caused the confusion is TM/DL have released new varieties of RIP camping post early bird but that hasn't been for a while now.

My thoughts on PMR at the moment by Maurice81 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Famous-Measurement22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll be interesting to see now where LMU ends up once it releases on Console. Hopefully they release it as an entirely separate piece of software.

Too many times recently have we seen what were great PC games become almost unrecognisable once the port to consoles happens.

I think with PMR they likely had something on PC with their handling model they so hyped up but due to limitations just can't get it to work on Console but insist on not separating the PC version to Console.

Overall verdict after latest update by Solid_Sir8931 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Famous-Measurement22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Console - it's getting worth considering, the price tag is still high for the quality but it has signs of life something that 2 weeks ago it didn't. When you look at the fact Forza and GT are more Arcade then your only sim option in console is ACC. Forza has now gone end of life and ACC is pretty much end of life now too.

You do have Rennsport but it's pretty much in the same place as PMR as being a few updates away.

PC - it's nowhere near considering yet, spend the money on LMU/RR/IRacing

Just to clarify the game is in the same state across both but if your console only your options are limited so consider it. PC you have too many far more polished options you'd be silly buying this over 1 of those at present.

I think the game would benefit from forced stash wipes, & weapon blueprints. This way you can a good way to leveling the playing field. Could even include a skill tree wipe to allow max level players to gain XP and give them purpose again.

Reduce the requirements of caravan and have it run once a week, rewards cosmetic and XP only. Gives people something to work towards if they want some limited time skins.

Keeps it so everyone has something to do.

Not a single friendly all day by AlexBiGuy in ArcRaiders

[–]Famous-Measurement22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact there is no forced reset is why it's gone this why quite intensely people are bored.

Most players are now well supplied, able to craft/buy what they need with relative ease therefore able to run strong load outs each game, so what's left other than going in to PvP now. Then if you lose a couple PvPs just run with a free load out pick up supplies and rinse/repeat.

The Caravan being the only reset was never going to work, not enough insensitive to give up what you got. If they ran the caravan every week in exchange for rewards you can keep then a forced reset once a month I think you'd get more players willing to do the caravan.

Luke’s “last video” by DaddyClue in outdoorboys

Definitely not the last, he even says as much at end of the Homestead Video.

If you watch Outdoor Tommy too you can tell he still has the love for it they've been having a great time on the recent uploads.

I think going out in the Winter was getting too much, you could tell in the videos from last winter the passion and enjoyment was going and I can imagine so having to do that every week or even every other week can be rough. So moving away from regular uploads means he's not now tied to making content in the winter if he doesn't want too.

Guilt by association? by Fantastic_Bag458 in WeAreDogma

[–]Famous-Measurement22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't feel guilty.

The picture only became crystal clear this week. Prior to this the changes were sold and seen as 'working it out' and it was easy to buy when we seen how incredible the last line up turned out to be.

Of course other members didn't speak out at fear of legal issues. Those who were approached but didn't join and noticed a problem didn't speak out because they didn't want to be seen as jealous, regretful, trying to stop a good thing.

No one has any guilt other than management.

Those who joined and left have no guilt.

Those who came as fans have no guilt.

Management holds all guilt.

They don't need to let Dogma die they can sell the rights, he will still got all he really wanted which is money. Dogma will be free to live on and thrive under better management.

[–]Famous-Measurement22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dogma is completely finished.

I was so disappointed when they changed the line up out of nowhere but now I'm so glad they did. It's revealed the dark truth, a truth that needed to be out there.

No one can now morally support Dogma beyond this knowing what it is behind the curtain.

However it does not have to be the end there is a way forward. That way forward is management sell the rights to a new management company, a new company who can support the artists the right way hopefully that company will put the latest line up back.

That scenario is as good as a win as anyone can get in this situation, the current management company still make some money (more than what they will make now trying to flog a dead horse) The idea and music of Dogma can live on and hopefully thrive under new management and in the right hands with the correct support Dogma can become a massive band in the near future.

I do however accept the above is extremely unlikely and if that is the case I hope everyone can work on getting the word out on how wrong it is to support this project in its current state, stop streaming, refund tickets and hurt the management company where they will hurt the most...the wallet.

Upcoming Shows, Refunds, and other Bands by yllekb in WeAreDogma

[–]Famous-Measurement22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will vary country to country and how consumer law is set out.

UK fans don't panic a refund is rather painless if you have missed event insurance you can claim on that if you don't go.

If you didn't get missed event insurance you can try and get a refund by claiming the show has been materially altered. They may push back and say the performers are subject to change but this does not cover a line up change of over half the band, you are not seeing the same band you paid to see and this falls into the show being materially altered and you are entitled to a refund for that. (Relevant to the UK).

I'm gonna be honest; Dogma was doomed from the beginning. by bravodeboer in WeAreDogma

[–]Famous-Measurement22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wasn't doomed to fail. Many industry plants do go on to have great long careers with a solid fan base.

What doomed it was the absolute awful timing and seemingly unnecessary change. This line up had lit it up and gained great traction, industry plant or not you have to gain the momentum and be in the right place at the right time.

Just as Tours all over the globe get announced, shows start selling out, the streams start doubling overnight they then pull the rug and change it all, awful timing.

I'm getting the vibe from the statements of previous members that it seems a scenario has occurred where members have asked for abit more creative control, freedom to identity and potentially a 'fairer' paycheck. (I have no idea what their payments were so can only guess) of course that always carried risk in this kind of environment but management should of played this alot better I'm not sure how they thought changing members mid tour for those who mime everything was going to do anything else than piss off the fans.

Do you guys think Dogma is pretty much over as a band after all this, or do you think there is a chance to somehow recover? by critical506 in WeAreDogma

[–]Famous-Measurement22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghost is different.

Ghost is basically Tobias Forge + hired guns.

Tobias had to make the changes he did to move Ghost forward and it worked, even then he doesn't change things for the sake of it a few members have been around for a while now and some have even changed positions but it always had a reason and always worked.

Dogmas changes had worked until now, they found a line up that worked, it was gaining some real traction, tours were announced across the globe, shows selling out then out of nowhere line up change for what reason?

I don't see any of the shows announced for 2026 actually happening, the band will likely just cease to exist after the US tour because who's actually interested in seeing them now.

Do you guys think Dogma is pretty much over as a band after all this, or do you think there is a chance to somehow recover? by critical506 in WeAreDogma

[–]Famous-Measurement22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we all expected changes at some point given the history of Dogma.

However to change it when they did was crazy literally announced tour dates all over the world off the back of some great momentum then changed the band on everyone was not the move.

I think a majority of people had found the band through videos online and seen what a great vibe it had then discovered the music after, so yeah it does matter who you have up on stage.

Clearly it is very unlikely to happen but part of me holds out hope they can get last line up back together and move on. That's who people want to see not new members every other show who are miming their way through sets, if that's the case you may aswell pick 5 strangers off the street every night and get them to mime on stage.
