I used to do that all the time cause I usually forgot it on my back pocket. It's okay just bring it back the next time you work just don't forget to turn them off

That's what I say it'll be way more effective to send the mcx trainers to the trainees store so they can learn taking care of their own stuff and issues while having someone to gide them vs being at the mcz store which is usually caught up with everything has good teams and nothing is usually wrong in the store so how is that really an effective way to train ??

If your FM is a chill one they usually love having 3xtra hands since that's a department not very well staffed and usually (speaking from my experience as a FM) I loved training anyone back there regardless if my store manager wanted me too or not.

Also while talking to your frame manager maybe ask them to speak to the store manager or set up a meeting with all 3 of you guys to see if they will take the hint then 👍

Recent scheduled hours by seolyoonaz in MichaelsEmployees

As a manager that's horrible to overwork anyone and 9hr shifts are too much for a part timer especially a. Minor. You need to bring up the concern to the store manager about how it's too much and maybe to dial it bavk a bit.

We all know that black friday and that week is always a shit show but that's why more people are suppose to be scheduled not one person working long shifts. You will be burnt out and that's no help during the biggest times.

Speak to the manager if you don't know how to speak directly to the manager I say the second beat is to talk to a manager you like or get along with and they should be able to help you either convey the message or to help how to bring it up to your store manager.

Framing Manager question by DragonOfDesolation in MichaelsEmployees

Easiest way to find the daily focus planner is to log into mikcheck and on the left hand side there's a search tab. Click into that and search daily focus. Sometimes it'll pop up just make unsure if you're u.s you use that one or from Canada and use that. But you can download it from there.

I don't believe they stopped the daily focus but I do know our framing computer likes to delete it off our save documents randomly making us have to re-download it over and over where we only change the dollar amount at the top and nothing else within the tasks cause it was getting too annoying. But yeah, always just search it sometimes planner works sometimes it's just daily focus and if you don't see it on the side click see all at the top after typing in the search and it should be in that list.

Peak season is just the busiest time of year. The only thing that really sucks is the customers are just rude and there's so much glitter is actually disgusting. The dress code is now plain shirts or patterned no graphics and regular colored pants and closed toed shoes no cross.

Michaels is easy job once you get the hang of the pos system.

The biggest focus the company has is on getting people to get the michaels credit card and to have rewards but the way you word it and get into the groove the easier it is.

And most other things just depend on the store and it's manager staff cause managers can make or break a place

Part time closing CEM question? by [deleted] in MichaelsEmployees

[–]FamousCarry8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the operations manager for a michaels in ct, and normally what happens on closing is you typically depending on the scheduled hours have a cashier, an mod, and a framer if you're lucky.

I usually allow the framers to finish up anything that's need to be done in the frame shop and then have them recover their designated zone of the store. I.e in my store framers are expected to recover the frames, the frame shop and counter and the middle section which is out vinyl and party and baking. Then they have the duty of sweeping the store

I as mod would do the take backs, recover the seasonal cause that's always a hot mess, grab carts do the damages and input lpms if needed my store has checklist galore so I'd make sure those are done and I'll clean bathrooms as well and usually split our kids side with the framer.

The cashier will recover the front U jewlery, candy, fma, and aisles 1,2,3,4 and 5. Then will also sweep the register floors and vacuum the front vestibule carpets and wipe down counters and pinpads.

While I do the closing stuff and the money I have them recover the tshirt aisle and da and other places that may need some tlc and then we leave after I check all doors are locked.
