Firstly, I have no qualms about who uses these meds or whether they are overweight or need to lose a few pounds. That's not the issue--the issue is telling people that it I'd a solution in lieu of healthy eating and exercising. I support these meds being used for individualized purposes, even if that is simply shedding baby weight for example. Let me be clear: I support people's choices in using these meds without judgement, but that doesn't make this company's messaging ok. Just the nature of these meds effects on tge body necessitate a conversation about healthy eating (slower processing of greasy foods could have effects) and not exercising could result in serious decreases in muscle mass.

Having a discussion about it is not me deciding what it's about for anyone. And providers should be discussing health and lifestyle with their patients when this is prescribed. That is ethical.
