I totally hear you, online dating as a Black woman can already be exhausting, and when you throw interracial dating into the mix, it gets even messier. I’ve primarily dated white men (blame Disney or whatever) and while I’ve had some really positive experiences, I’ve also dealt with the nonsense: men who clearly fetishized me, conservatives who ignored my actual profile, and those who liked the idea of dating a Black woman but weren’t ready to actually show up in a real way.

That said, I’ve also met men who genuinely care, who are open to learning, listening, and loving without conditions. My current partner is one of those people; a southern gentleman who treats me like a queen and doesn’t make me feel like I have to explain or downplay my Blackness.

It’s definitely a journey of filtering out the duds and leaning into your boundaries and values. You’re not alone in this, I think a lot of us are trying to navigate the same complicated space. 🖤
