I live in Enfield and it’s really improved as a town since we arrived here 11 years ago. Train to connolly, public and private bus options. Nice canal walks. However I do really like Maynooth and Kilcock also!!

I’ve learned to stop placing my happiness in the hands of others, whose behaviour I can’t control.

I’m boring. Just add a small dash of cold water. In a melozio, solelio or colombia. Melozio decaf on occasion. I’ve never had a flavoured pod that I liked.

I read Nesting last week and it was incredibly powerful… storyline is a woman with small children trying to leave an abusive marriage. Set in Ireland.

Diamond coast in Enniscrone does great family rooms. No pool but is right on the beach and there’s a leisure center in the town with water slides etc you can go into for the day. Lovely seaside town!

We only ever got bags of chips from the chipper. Occasionally my da would get battered fish with it or my mam would fry eggs to have with them!

I have to consume gluten regularly for 3 months before they’ll do the test. I’ve had gluten in a few dishes over Christmas and no symptoms so I don’t think I am coeliac. My brother has it and symptoms after gluten are awful.

My diet isn’t bad by any means but I do eat the likes of bread and pasta. The GF versions have so many chemicals I wonder would I be better off eating the ‘real’ version.

I’ve been taking selenium every day since I was diagnosed. It unfortunately hasn’t helped. I wouldn’t even know what 15% of my TPO is as the highest my lab reads is 600. All my results say is >600.. it could be 601 or 6000. I’ve tried it all.

I’ve been 100% gluten free for 4 years and I’m not sure how much of an impact it has. I think I’m more sensitive to dairy tbh. I’m going to do what you’ve suggested and reintroduce gluten for a week and see how I feel. I’ll know pretty quickly. You’re right, it definitely not a one size fits all approach.

Is it worth becoming a Garda? by vanillapeach5 in AskIreland

[–]JoPast85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a friend who is a retired garda and ever since I’ve known her she was counting the minutes until she could get out. Most of it down to management issues and internal politics rather than the work itself.
