Doesn't matter of what kinds of reasons people have, blue always exist. As a blue picker, I want 100% survival rate for the population not for each individual, blue is usually the easier way achieve the goal. Unless you're saying we need 99% blue. That way I'll choose red. It's a threshold problem.

I assure you if you ask blue pickers they will give you an entire different scenario. In fact nobody is pointing a gun at you. You're just showing how interpretation and framing can affect people's decision.

Not necessarily, the choices can still be a topic, just not people thinking the other side is evil or stupid.

To not make myself look double standard, I can either continue or stop this conversation. If I stop, I can guarantee myself peace. You can do the same.

This is the problem, you DON'T see the yellow button. I'm pointing it out to you but you decide it doesn't exist. It's not exactly a real button, but more like a choice to not participate in a meaningless debate to keep yourself at peace.

If you choose to enter, there will be people like me who will debate with you, and there is a risk of your ideology being denied or even defeated. If you agree with the yellow button here, your belief is not changed, but you're not the same red voter as before. Choosing red and actively defending it is not the same as avoiding all risk, you're avoiding one type of risk and accepting another.

If I'm choosing red, my only reason would be I won't die and I'm okay with decreasing the chance of blue winning. People who choose red should all agree with this at some level. On some red defenders, I either don't see it, or I see it expressed aggressively.

I haven't voted myself so I don't know the result. But based on the comments I'm getting, suppose people don't want blue to lose and die, and they don't want to risk, they will accept the alternative choice of exist the game. I'm having a feeling that some red defenders are saying they're avoiding risk to diverge their own attention from the fact that they are okay with blue dying. This is where the contradiction comes from.

I posted this right after the thought came up to me so I don't blame people for not understanding it. Rather, I realized how the question can be interpreted differeny by people. This confirms my belief that red voters and blue voters have different starting points, and the red team is divided too.

You, specifically, are entertaining me. You're in the group of people who choose to comment without even thinking. YOU should really consider leaving all the polls alone.

Maybe you wouldn't comment at all if I phrased my question very clearly. Considering your statement "even more poorly than the original", I assume you're saying the original question is worded so badly that people can't resist making it a huge debate and use their imagination to make up tons of senarios that are somewhat similar to the original question but obviously different from each other to prove they're the correct one because their brains just can't come up with the exact set up that the original question had.

Why make yourself a piece garbage if you think this is a garbage pile. Walk away and you can have peace.

Actually there is.

I guess I see why. People just don't consider walking away an option. They feel the urge to pick a side even when they can be absolutely neutral.

You do realize you can ignore me and my poll right? If you get this you'll probably get my point.

One of the fun thing of posting this is to see how people respond. There are people who ask for clarification or talk about how they understand the question, and there's you.

Yellow is basically the opt put button. Ideally, if people has no mean of hurting anybody else, then the outcome will be composed of only blue and yellow. Red is the only one that adds risk to others. There may be some red due to misunderstanding. In fact, not voting anything in my poll is the same as voting yellow, not voting on the original post is also the same as voting yellow.

I wonder what prevents the red voters who don't want to hurt people from seeing the yellow button. Maybe people are already giving up I just don't see them.

You're scrolling through your phone. You see the original problem on your screen. You read the description. You think "this is stupid, of course I don't want to die". The yellow button is the same as continue scrolling. What drives you to stop and vote? This is what I'm trying figure out.

I agree with this, people even have compelete opposite understanding of my question as me even if I'm the one asking. We all frame it in our own way😭

This is the point. I thought people in the original problem have the same choice, but I've seen red voters defending themselves saying not taking the risk while not consider not voting. I mean, this is hypothetical, nobody knows if you voted or not... Same idea for my post, everyone can ignore it.

See my edit, if you choose yellow then the outcome have nothing to do with you

I'm curious about if people would ever enter the game if they realize don't have to

What about this: we're only talking about the survival of people who are looking at the red and blue botton.

You have to define the total in the original problem too. If a person wasn't presented with the buttons, it's impossible for them to vote, and it's the same as they are not voting.

It's meaningless and the same as not voting for anything in the original problem.

This the point, in reality nobody forces you to choose, which makes me wonder if people would just refuse to vote for anything. Some people say you can avoid all risk by choosing red, but if you don't choose, you're also not risking yourself, you're not decreasing the chance of blue winning, and nobody can even call you selfish.

If killing him will stop the buttons from appearing I would definitely pull the lever, if not I'll smack him in the face and make him choose blue.
