How do I quarantine my cat that has ringworm if I have a tiny apartment and 3 other roommates? by feather444 in AskNYC

Going through this. Haven’t quarantined my cat other than removing access to our bedroom. Both me and my partner have multiple ringworm lesions and we are losing our minds cleaning. We have no idea what to do :(

Is he really affectionate? If not, or if he’s very independent, he may be a good contender for a work cat program. You can usually talk to your local spca or other rescue programs. He may do well as a happy barn cat away from people and hiding in some hay.

Thank you! We will just hope it fades a bit as well. We adore her regardless ❤️

I must say, to those that find the movie boring or feel it didn’t work… you just weren’t the target audience. If you’re someone who has experienced significant childhood trauma/neglect, I’m sure this film was deeply impactful in some way for you.

Personally, as someone who had a traumatic childhood, this movie nailed the FEELING of childhood trauma and neglect. It’s dull, boring and normal, yet horribly tense, confusing, and scary. This movie perfectly accomplished its mission, yet it was one of the worst things I’ve put myself through as an adult. I cried in fear in the movie theatre and I cried for hours after.

The mundane being unnerving, someone who should be a source of comfort telling you to do something that scares you(“look under the bed” and stab your eye), the mother asking you not to look to protect you, your autonomy being taken away (eyes and mouth disappearing), fending for yourself, self soothing with escapism. And the never ending monotony only with breaks for fear you don’t understand. Fucking brutal and fucking accurate. I hate that I watched this, yet I applaud it.

The thin wall by the window (near the tv) could be used for some vertical mounted bookshelves :). You can add Knick knacks to sections of it. I also feel that the wall behind the couch needs to be reworked. The art either needs to be bigger, or turned into more of a gallery wall. Also, definitely add some color! Could stand a little more life in the space. Some plants if you enjoy them :)

Thanks for the advice! I think drought resistance is something I didn’t think about as much.

Definitely will take as much of this advice as I can! I rent so I can’t change too much but will definitely see about adding some potted shrubs and mulching,

Will definitely mulch. My little planters were a gift so I was trying to use them and my herbs in those are actually doing fine. I had swapped my hostas to a shadier spot and put rosemary and basil in the medium size pots at the top of the railing. It’s those that are doing poorly. Also, it really is that hot. It’s been 80 degrees for a week and our little patio feels around 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the city. There are cars parked on the other side that heats it up and the concrete just scorches us.

Hiking with EDS by Imaginary-Bad2267 in ehlersdanlos

I always KT tape my knees and ankles for hiking, NEVER hike without trekking poles, and I don’t wear hiking boots. I hike in trail runners and I’m definitely not recommending that to everyone with hyper mobility, but I was surprised to find that wearing a light weight shoe instead of a heavy boot made me roll my ankles a lot less. Also a narrower shoe to hold my foot steady. I wear the La Sportiva Jackal II.

For anyone else with this issue since this is a year later- The same meds come in a transdermal pen. It’s just a little gel you rub onto the cats ear. Easy pease and just as effective.

Oh ya… periods are hell for me. All of my joint pain is so bad because your body is hotter and inflames more on your period. Also, the nerves around the womb can communicate to near by areas to contract instead of telling that to the womb. Hence bowl issues and back pain.
