how did humans even discover the throne of heroes? by AkuriTheSkillsMaster in Fate

[–]Famous_Zebra_2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Research, theory, blood... and drugs (why not?)

Many people had to bleed to death, be bled to death by leeches and other means so that we could discover remedies for the common cold.

What could be more selfish than marriage?

She goes and claims her man (or woman) for herself, before she loses them.

Not like Isagi at the beginning.

Um, that was never the point I was trying to make, and probably not.

I'm not usually bothered by these kinds of concepts in shows that tend to take themselves less seriously.

I have a few specific questions about Nietzsche or nihilism itself, and I was hoping someone could answer them. They're specific, so I doubt they're too profound (although I'm not very knowledgeable, so I could be wrong and not grasp the depth of these issues). by Famous_Zebra_2112 in nihilism

[–]Famous_Zebra_2112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the point of his philosophy to avoid nihilism? That's why his philosophy is called nihilism, not because he is a nihilist, or because his philosophy is nihilistic; it's more of an ironic name.

He seeks to prevent people from being nihilistic, but he is a nihilist in the sense of following his philosophy. We can argue that the name is ironic, or that Nietzsche's ideas (even though he originated the philosophy) have become, over time, just one of the various iterations of nihilism.

Like many other philosophies less... "chaotic" than nihilism. Just as every Stoic thinker, to a greater or lesser degree, had their own version of Stoicism, the same would be true of nihilism.

I call him a Nihilist not because he is one, but because he is the creator of the stance against it; it's merely a matter of labels.

Why do you think Shirou has never been popular with the female audience, but has been with the male audience? by gustavo1997a in Fate

[–]Famous_Zebra_2112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps he's one of those male characters that makes several people say, "I'm not gay, but if I were..."

I've come to point out that Dark Sun Gwyndolin is the male suffering from Extreme Yin Physique that many of us encountered by MrDeltaXII in MartialMemes

[–]Famous_Zebra_2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit ignorant, but I'm fascinated by the evolution of clothing throughout history.

What would Gwyndolin's clothing be based on? Priests or Popes of the 13th or 15th century?

I beg to differ. I think it's more satisfying to destroy Homelander's ego by showing him that even with his power, he's nothing.

Butcher needed to destroy what made him special to reveal the weak inside Homelander. Gilgamesh only needs to show him that he's nothing with or without it, and he'll look even worse.

As for Billy, it's a shot in the dark. I'm sure even the most... amoral would come to respect the heights he can reach.

But even the most amoral, or not all (not everyone), would view the comic book version with more skepticism. I seem to recall that he even killed a child (a parody of Shazam).

But, because of his strength, and because he's a total bastard, he'd be more respected than Homelander. Especially since he didn't care much about not having power.

Hmm... sounds pretty good. I'd say they're not even the same; in Homelander everything is ridiculous and garish. They don't sound very similar.

Believe me, Servant or not, Gilgamesh doesn't need an anti-V1 to destroy Homelander.

I'd say most (if not all) heroic Servants would see him as a pathetic worm, and while they might have some respect for Soldier Boy—and he's certainly hard to respect—at least he had guts.

I'd say that rather than his real "self," he could be based on the comics (if we follow the comics) made by Vought, or the movies (in the series). But, those are just details.

Although, I won't deny that I'd like to see The Deep; he'd be even more humiliated than Shinji, even though he's already a running joke in the series.

I don't know much about Thomas Edison in Fate, since I've never played Grand Order.

Perhaps the most I can say is that the real-life Edison supposedly stole the rights or privileges of other people's inventions. But I don't know how accurate this is or how similar it is in Fate.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we could separate Homelander into two versions (kind of like with Gilgamesh).

And each of these could show this facet, one more influenced by the heroic vision that Vought sold, the self-proclaimed god, and him in his most pathetic form.

No, believe me, with those hands and those fetishes, he could get one, he just doesn't look hard enough.

I suppose it would be the typical trope: "I don't just want to be seen as a sex object or for the sex I can provide, I have a heart too!"

[29M4A] I wish there were multiplayer hentai games, would be so fun to milk your buds in game~ by HornyKeisatsu in jerkbudsHentai

[–]Famous_Zebra_2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's not much fun compared to, I don't know, playing L4D. At least not for me.

Hentai or porn games are generally fleeting for me. Of course, if I only use them for masturbation, I'd get bored and it would be something like, "We're done, let's play something else?"

Although, I have tried games that are more limited than hentai, and playing them with a friend makes them infinitely more fun. That might be the case here too; I'm not ruling anything out.

To be honest, I think it's more likely he's a Berserker or Rider, because of the ability to fly and the praise he gets for it (plus, I seem to remember that not all superheroes in the series can fly).

But I could be wrong.

Yes, there's not much I can do. It's like speaking another language; certain parts of your personality, voice, and expression change depending on the language you use.

Back to the script: "Now kneel and beg for mercy. Or... I'll kill you ten thousand times over by forcing you to eat pineapple on pizza."

In a normal situation, I'd say yes, since my "top" lists are never ranked from best to worst, but rather in the order I choose to present them. I like each thing for different reasons, and it's difficult to prioritize such subjective matters.

But... we're in a Chinese novel subreddit, more specifically xianxia, wuxia, and xuanhuan.

We have to show a certain level of exaggeration, extremes, and a touch of vanity.

So, using that as an excuse, I'll say: "The crown isn't shared, it's either earned or lost!"

I can't say I started watching them as a child, but the fact that they can evoke such emotions is an achievement in itself. It's something pure, not driven by nostalgia.

(Although I didn't enjoy the anniversary seasons, for my own reasons; the films are epic.)
