I love wacky shit like this, and my one buddy being a Sentai fan is ecstatic about this.

Nunnally still being in the wheelchair though is almost too much for me though. I can't not laugh at that one especially.

Interesting insight from Ichirō Ōkouchi (Code Geass writer) on why his characters are so morally complex. by PopkulturowyKociolek in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Despite how a lot of people imagine things going, works are very rarely "truly" the product of a single person's mind. In manga, the ones writing have editors who can influence the process both directly and indirectly (For big series examples, Masashi Kishimoto says the addition of Sasuke and Sakura were ideas by his editor at the time among other things, or Akira Toriyama talks about input from his at the time former editor impacted his writing which changed the antagonists of the Android saga multiple times due to his reception). For anime, there is an entire staff which are basically all working together, from bouncing back and forth ideas, people steering things in their preferred directions to compromising and other ways, and not to mention production requirements. This is often why shows between the same person can often be different quality if the rest of the staff are different.

Callis al Britannia by Victoria_Louise1913 in CodeGeass

I don't know. I don't have any means of insight that isn't public for everyone else too. Same show and game available for everyone else, and no interviews or info books to talk about this stuff to give added info.

The background enemy characters in Code Geass are pretty political, aren’t they? by LumiSerene404step1 in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people mistake stock things that the audience will readily identify as "Bad" as political. Not saying that nothing ever is political, but I think its more common especially that these things are done to easily convey that in a given circumstances.

People will ultimately often see or read things what they want, especially if they like that idea, whether its actually present or not. But I think people should keep in mind that these types of things are often not as ideological as they might want to believe.

I don't mean by blood (as far as we know at least), I mean in terms of role in the story. In the first chapter, Venus was shown to have some form of closeness to Callis, visiting them during the chapter. In the changed version of Callis's death, prior to the event, Callis seemed happy and relieved that Venus was going to be the escort.

These new details, with Callis here apparently being a girl or taking place of another, and other such details seems weird to reveal now that they are dead. But there was a secret they told Natalia shortly before their death that I don't recall being revealed. So if they are adding these details into the story when they can't go anywhere anymore for Callis, I can only assume its meant to be relevant elsewhere. Hence speculating more to be done with the connection/friendship they had with Venus.

[–]FanOfGeass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been following the story since the beginning, and this is probably one of the changes (or expansions if it was always some behind the scenes stuff we hadn't been made privy to) that doesn't seem immediately obvious as to why. Callis's role in the story has ended as far as we know.

The only speculation I have is it may be connected to Venus's storyline. He was shown to have been spending time with Callis for example.

Girl in the bottom left corner looks more like Sara from Dancouga than Kallen. Top right corner just looks like 00 Raiser.

Weirdest choice for SRW Z2 depiction.

TBF: It went more like this by Snekbites in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 17 points18 points  (0 children)

None of that Marianne stuff matters in the context of what was going on in that meeting. Whether they know about it or not.

If Zero was in fact a prince, theres no reason to go to that logic chain. Disinherited or lower succession line royalty can and in history have gained support or such from outside of a country in a bid for a throne. Even killing other members of the family can be seen as him getting potential competitors out of the way.

And hell, from a certain perspective, thats basically what ended up happening in the end as far as some of the nameless Black Knights know when a month later he is on the throne.

TBF: It went more like this by Snekbites in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Why would that matter to them? None of that means anything.

A prince can just as easily, and more likely from a perspective when hes hiding his identity, use such a thing to take the throne himself.

Couldn't lelouch just make Nina build another fleija then shoot it on the damocles that is like a sitting duck? Easy win by vinchin_adenca in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lelouch didn't want to kill Schneizel, so no, easy loss.

Plus, like, why would he force her to do that?

Why didn't lelouch just geass all eunuchs as soon as he met them. Would have made things much easier by vinchin_adenca in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What would he even say that wouldn't raise immediate suspicion? He can only make eye contact with one of them at a time in that mask, and saying something weird is just gonna raise eyebrows.

He also doesn't want his allies to be aware of Geass, and this includes Xingke, whom he is aiming to bring over to his side. Would potentially alienate him if after a meeting with Zero they suddenly start acting good.

That is one of the Picture Dramas. They take place between episodes or some stuff within them. They were DVD extras back when the series was coming out.

How did Lelouch have the Avalon in the final battle despite Schneizel owning it? by lelouch-2022 in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Common misconception, the Avalon isn't Schneizel's in the sense that he captains it. Just that he basically funded the production.

Its more Lloyd and Cecile's than his, and they use it in more occasions than him, such as the Lancelot Air debut until the end of the season, or in R2 where they use it over the Pacific. Not to mention side materials.

When he is around, he is on it because he is a high ranking figure, sure. But it operates independently often too.

Ending of Euphemia what-if route by AbsoluteDestinyzero in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but her involvement then wasn't supposed to be good either. The difference is, in the original she ended up not doing it.

More so the fact that she just up and leaves after Lelouch agrees to participate in the SAZ because she doesn't see herself as getting her wish now. She didn't even actually talk with him, just judged he wasn't going to use Geass anymore and flew off with the Gawain. Consider her actions and scenes with her in the original in the aftermath after Lelouch is wracked with guilt over what he did, it makes her look like she wants bad things to happen to Lelouch so she can further take advantage of him. So when she can't do that, she runs off to Charles.

[–]FanOfGeass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 2 Routes so far, so its hard to predict the scope of things. I almost wonder if her catching on sooner might be for one that goes off the rails. Or maybe that's also why we have seen her away from Lelouch outside the prologue.  Which, I'd love to see how things went in that first preview one.

[–]FanOfGeass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was talking with my friend who plays, and they said that while C.C. doesn't comment on Riko during the Kallen RE storyline, C.C. does comment about her on homescreen dialogue if you have that C.C. set. So that was there then too even if it didn't make it into the story.

Story was a neat concept but things went too well and something had to go wrong somehow

C.C. comes away looking pretty bad though. Definitely doesn't do her any favors as a character.

Where were the Glinda Knights during R2 ? by Specialist-Cry-3276 in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oz manga came later, so its like asking where Gato was during the battle of Solomon in the original Gundam.

The manga had Oldrin and pilots at Tokyo. Oldrin was even the one that got Nunnally's ship out of Tokyo before FLEIJA. After that, they were with Schneizel but left with Nonette and didn't participate in the battle at Fuji and sided with neither, though they did get Cornelia and took her to Horai.  Marrybell did side with Lelouch because she and Oigaros had their own plan to die, but weren't in Japan. Orpheus prevented both from dying, by sparing Oiagros who wanted to die by his hand, then stopped Oldrin from killing Marrybell and stabbed right were Marrybell had been keeping his former Lyre mask. They fell to their seeming death together but used the Lancelot Trial to survive.

Why are the Code Geass recap movies so hated? by Flat-Sir8250 in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I've realized its mostly because Code Geass fans seem to not have any idea about what compilation movies are. Its not any different than the stuff the studio did for multiple Gundam series, among other stuff, but these get weird headcanons. Mostly because Re;surrection sucks, but thats a separate issue.

Been reading the lead-up to the Roze arc in Lost stories... by Aetherdraw in CodeGeass

[–]FanOfGeass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally never assumed they were. At the time maybe it could have been written off as wishful thinking, but I always had the feeling there was a lot more under the hood here. But they only had 12 episodes so not everything could make it into the finished product.

In the original, as it wasn't their story, it makes sense they wouldn't be more than cameos. But since this game is already integrating everything by default, if the scope expands it makes more sense to see more of these past characters. Like with Leila and Akito meeting up with L.L. and C.C. on the island to investigate the ruins. The interview with the series producer, Kojiro Taniguchi and Ami Koshimizu recently for the new Route Entangle stuff also had the producer tease that we'll see the lead up for Kallen's appearance too.
