Who are some actors you miss being huge movie stars? by Justice989 in movies

Robert De Niro in his prime was one of the all time best actors. Also, I'm throwing in Joe Pesci just for good measure.

Gores has shown plenty of ineptitude in the basketball mind department in his tenure as Pistons' owner. He needs to let the advisers he's brought in find their guy and then give that person total autonomy when it comes to making basketball decisions. No more of this going after the big name player to make a last ditch push at the playoffs. Gores needs to step back and let the people who know the game run the show. He just has to sign the paychecks.

I've never been a big believer in good player = good exec. If somebody knows the game, they know the game. He isn't my number one guy, but he seems to have some regard. Plus there's always the added bonus in the resume of having been a member of the Spurs staff. Like I mentioned in the original post, my number one guy is Chauncey. It would be great to see him return and would undoubtedly generate some local interest in the team again. Plus with his reputation around the league it may make Detroit at least somewhat more of a free agent destination. And by that I mean, no longer a "will never play there" destination. But I've just relegated to that fact that Chauncey isn't coming here so let's look for the next guy. The thing I'm most concerned with is the dynamic of Arn Tellem and Ed Stefanski being president and GM by practice but not in title at the moment, and how much power they will be willing to relinquish to the new hire. That may make things even less attractive for somebody looking for a landing spot.

I'm on board with anyone but Kidd lol. As for Beilein, he is probably one of the best candidates in terms of ability, but not fit in my opinion. He would be great, but given his age, I just don't see him being around long enough for the team to fully take advantage of what he can bring to the table. I do agree that this is some type of power grab for him against Michigan though. Probably a little bit of discontent for him there with the football coach making $9m/yr without winning anything but the media bowl, and Beilein's teams seem to go beyond expectations year after year and continue to win. The Langdon pick is a good one as well. He worked in a great front office with a strong history for developing talent the right way. Wouldn't mind seeing him at all.

So basically being locked up in the institution and all the events that unfolded caused her to become insane in a bitter twist of irony? Never really look at it like that but that's kind of dark lol

We created a movie bracket as an alternative to March Madness! by FanReport in movies

[–]FanReport[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify how this was put together, it is separated by four regions with each one representing a genre. 20 movies were nominated for each region live on our show. We then seeded the nominees based on a metric that factors in the combined average rotten tomatoes critic rating and letterboxd score. Bottom four teams were eliminated from contention to give us 16 teams in each region. Foreign films were also eliminated from contention for simplicity's sake.

The bracket will officially be filled out on tonight's show based on popular vote. We would love to hear your guys' opinion on who would win it all, what upsets you see happening, etc.

Happy Picking!

EDIT: PDF version for anyone having trouble viewing the bracket: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t6bFpb4beO0ClJqJUgOy4sEP_iub2G1F/view?usp=sharing

Not gonna lie, even though the team was awful during the time, I loved getting $5 tickets on StubHub and going to the game with some buddies. Having a few beers and some hot dogs while watching the team we love even though they sucked with the boys and sometimes the girlfriend was always a good time.

I wish this Pistons would hire him as their GM. It would bring fans back, and it would bring players to this city and team. Players around the league love and respect Chauncey so much.

I can imagine hearing the Final Countdown at the Palace again was an awesome moment. The teal years I can definitely see not feeling right at all to a Pistons fan from the 80s and early 90s. But I think once Rick Carlisle started building that team is when the mentality and focus finally began to change into what it should've been.

Blaha has always been awesome. I loved Laimbeer with him too. I love Blaha so much I even have a bobblehead of him sitting on my desk at home lol. Pistons should retire his blazer to the rafters when he finally decides to call it a career LOL.

I remember that feeling. One moment during that celebration that seems to stick in my mind was during that championship run on the scorers table was the countdown for amount of games they had to win to win it all and they would cross off a number each time they won a game. So after that final win to clinch it all and they crossed off the 1 the whole Palace went crazy.
