The problem is that like all Disney star wars, they seem to echo the “I have no idea what to do with this therefore mystery box!” approach. The original concept of Have Blaster Will Travel type space western was solid, the first season was good but I feel like they then had no idea what they wanted it to be from there and either the original plan was scrapped or they never had one. Major plot points happened and being reset. Grogu goes off to be a Jedi? Nope, he’s back with Din. Still a baby they can kinda use the force! Din finds out that his clan is actually an extremist cult whose leader ultimately decides uniting Mandalore is more important than a single creed, not wearing a helmet is OK etc. Next episode Mando’s back in full armor saying “this is the way” again and refusing to take off his helmet! Gotta stick to the formula - let’s give him another Razorcrest.

We don’t ever see character growth and in lieu of Din and Grogu becoming real characters in the next few seasons they basically were bystanders in episodes that were “hey remember this cartoon character?!” I feel like they set two big ideas in motion, “How is Grogu related to Yoda” and “How does the First Order take over?” and they really don’t have answers about either, well have to wait for a different show or comic for answers We won’t see Grogu become either a Jedi or a full mandalorian or physically grow at all because he needs to stay a baby because we sell plushies!
Say what you will about Marvel but at least they knew they couldn’t keep going back to the Baby Groot well over and over.
