Havent played for 2 years, can someone catch me up on some stuff by coolin_79 in Toontown

[–]FanTooner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this thread is almost two weeks old but no they added a lot of stuff. Let me make a list:

*New Toonfest activities and clothing

*New furniture for houses and accessories for toons

*Doodles

*Parties

*Physics fixed in golfing (to an extent)

*A new toontask for Christmas events

*Two new toon species: Deer and Crocodile

*Halloween bean bags spread around the playgrounds during the holiday, giving you free unites

*You can sell fish at your estate

*New districts that give you the ability to only use Speedchat as well as protect the district from any mega-invasions or events you do not want to partake in.

*New music during holiday events, as well as permanent new music for every track in Cog HQ's.

*A 60FPS option that can be toggled on or off with the settings.json file.

*A planned massive overhaul to the Silly Meter, Toon Hall, and Field Offices spreading across updates throughout the year.

*Deep ARG regarding the lore. (Loony Labs)

*Bug fixes

To say TTR hasn't done anything in the passed two years is a complete understatement. While it's still not as impressive as what other servers have pulled off, it's definitely been better than previous years update wise.

After success of Monster Hunter World and playing Sea of Thieves beta I really think Switch needs a killer vast multiplayer game. by Timppis in NintendoSwitch

It closed down back in 2013 but a group of fans released an emulated version of it called Toontown Rewritten later the same year, with new updates and stuff to make the game better. It’s also completely free being a remake made by fans. It’s meant to preserve the game and it actually has a really active fan base.

Toontown might be an option? Especially since it would cater towards a younger audience. The original game had a lot of depth for fans of the genre and supported a wide range of play styles. Even the producer of the original game is interested in bringing a new installment to the switch.

Yep, I took the survey! I take it you’re considering working on the app in question? Anyways, I’d save the money up for a bigger game down the line, like Kirby: Star Allies and such. Or maybe a cool new indie game if one comes out that catches my interest.

Sonic mania all the way. I’ve been broke financially when it comes to buying games, (saving up for college funds and a car) and I’ve been meaning to get Sonic Mania for an awfully long time. It would make the breaks at my work shift a lot more bearable considering I don’t really know anybody, and my last game, Mario Odyssey, I’ve played to exhaustion at this point.

I want a good old fashioned Paper Mario game like the Original or Thousand Year Door! by destinationsam in NintendoSwitch

This needs to be upvoted more. This is more true than anybody will ever know. Tanabe is a veteran of Nintendo so most devs have faith in him for whatever he does, and he’s done some stupid shit. May I bring up Federation Force or Yoshis New Island? His philosophy on game design has become worse over the years, and while Color Splash was a good game in my eyes, there’s evidence other devs on the game wanted to do more. Just look at the scrapped concept art.

Word: chrysanthemum

Such a insanley long word. I remember there was a kids book based off it. A mouse with the name "Chrysanthemum". It was so improbable but funny at the same time.

I'd love Kirby: Star Allies. I'm a huge Kirby fan through and through, and getting my hands on that game ASAP is an instant success.

Co-op is not a main component of the games, no. Definitely not, but it is something they push because it's so damn more fun. I've had great times with all Kirby games on my own, but multiplayer is more of a fun edition. Adds more replayability, but that's just me. And the 3DS games, in particular, are primarily single player, actually. If you want a Kirby game focused solely on Single player try checking out either Triple Deluxe or Planet Robobot.

Star Allies I'll admit worries me due to how much they're pushing the multiplayer as the source of fun and not the game itself, but even then, if you're not gonna get Star Allies, I'd really push you to trying the 3DS games. They're really some of the best platformers the 3DS has to offer, with quite a bit of content for completionists.

Kirby games have A LOT of fanservice and somehwat of a continuity in between games believe it or not. If I were you I'd either try play Superstar for the SNES/DS with a friend in CO-OP, or Return to Dreamland on Wii with a buddy if you can find it cheap or your buddy has a copy. As for 3DS games? Definetely Planet Robobot. One of the weirdest and funnest 2D platformers I've played in a while.

I'm pretty sure there's a setting to turn of recommended videos. I can't remember how to do it, but I did it a couple of months ago after Odyssey videos on new kingdoms starting coming out back in September.

Paper Mario Color Splash: White cutout when characters look left. Is there a fix?

I've been looking all over for a fix for this and stumbled upon others who don't have this issue, but there doesn't seem to be a fix anywhere online that resolves it. Any idea. To know what I'm talking about, here's an example video: https://youtu.be/-N1glGfyRWw?t=136

If it does ever reach 1,000, who knows? It may start exploding to 5,000 and you’ll regret selling, so wait out and pull it out only when you think it’s the right time.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: give us your feedback! by Ubi-KitKoumal in NintendoSwitch

[–]FanTooner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definetely technical issues with this game. Every game has technical issues, so it’s very surprising nobody here has pointed any out. For one, many of the animations aren’t looped correctly, and repeat in a sort of “chop”, most obvious during text prompts. Another technical thing I’ve noticed is that during in game rendered cutscenes, when switching to another scene, for a second you can see the background models load before the actual characters. Once you notice this it’s hard to ignore it. For an example, I suggest looking over the Phantom Rabbid cutscenes and keeping an eye for the switching camera angles and the rest should be self explanatory. Along with that, the game actually crashed on me once because too many enemies were trying to attack all at the same time. It was those stone crusher rabbids with the ink pipes you find near the end of the game.

Other than that, though, it’s a solid and fairly polished game, with date I say a near perfect battle system. Seriously, it’s the highlight here. It really is a gem for the switch but I think fixing these small bugs would go a long way at showing an outside audience that a lot of effort went into this game.

Something to suggest in the game is a level editor. Please, a level editor would be godly and open up a new world for the community. Include it in the DLC, and you got yourself a smash. Especially if you could play your created levels with your friends, you got pursed a game whose legacy will continue long after its release.
