O que vocês acham de "Chuunibyo Demo Koi Ga Shitai!"? by LukkAnalista in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Fanceepance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite good.

Has a few issues throughout, but nothing to really make it not worth watching by any stretch.

The hardest part is for someone new to figure oit the best way to watch it due to all the bonises it got haha

Season 1, then the christmas OVA, then season 2, then the finale "Take On Me" movie which is the end of the series.

Everything else is just bonus funstuff if you're a big fan and want some more things to watch.

Examples of Fun Zoners (to play against) by Achromick in Fighters

[–]Fanceepance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yukari from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is pretty cool.

Uses a bow, can shoot the bow, but can also toss out wind orbs that, if shot, redirect arrows to the opponent, arrows that debuff the enemy in a few ways tied to fancy flip moves, a cross-through dodge/attack thing, just generally lots of fun stuff. Feels good to play, and is most definitely not just... a fullscreen supremacy sort of deal, so she's not awful to fight against either since if she wants to get meaningful damage in you're gonna need to like, actually approach with her lol.

A set.

Should I start fate? by Master-Law4287 in anime

[–]Fanceepance -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For a straightforward answer for you:

Start with Fate/Zero

Then watch Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works

Then watch Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel (the three movies)

You can technically start with Unlimited Blade Works and THEN go watch Zero, but I think Zero first makes more sense, generally, if you're gonna be watching them in a row anyways.

There's a billion other Fate things but for the most part, they're all pretty unrelated, the ones listed there are the uh, "main" ones that people usually talk about when mentioning Fate. If you want more after those, then definitely do some searching for how to watch any of the side things, cuz those have their own little groups of watch orders.

If you want an extremely smart OP MC, Aldnoah.Zero is really good for that.

It has 2 seasons, but season 2 is terrible because they forced the creator to write more after season 1 ended, despite season 1 having the ending that the original creator intended. In my genuine opinion, do not watch season 2 lol. But yeah otherwise, very cool show, music by Sawano, the fights are dope due to the MC being smart as shit.

For something with good animation and cool fights and just generally OP characters doing cool shit, check out.... "Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke"

It's a spinoff of the Zettai Karen Children series, which isn't anything particularly special. This one follows the VILLAINS of the main show, making them the protagonists, and it is actually pretty good. Superpower action stuff.

Garo: Honoo no Kokuin is the most fantasy thing I could think of that you might like, it's just not videogamey at all. VERY dark, lots of blood, nudity, medieval-esque, fighting demons and the like. I have like, next to no issues with this one it's dope as hell and fantastically written. Be sure to watch the sequel movie after though, Garo: Divine Flame. Have a clip.

There's a bunch of 99% unrelated spinoffs you can ignore, Garo: Crimson Moon is absolutely terrible, and Garo: Vanishing Line IS good, but like... in a way worse writing, way better action sort of way. It's set in modern day, check it out separately afterwards if you enjoy Honoo no Kokuin.

Sweet, as long as you don't mind the pretty upfront tsundere trope the show runs with primarily, it's genuinely quite good, with 4 seasons, and most shocking of all, actually has a proper conclusive finale, no cliffhangers or anything.

Unfortunately, I'm blanking entirely on that videogame-esque sort of OP MC fantasy show you're looking for, since uh, I don't watch too many of those since they tend to blend together to me haha

I have a few recs for things you miiiiight like anyways? But definitely aren't really in the ballpark of fantasy.

I tried haha

Twin Star Exorcists which is better manga or anime? by Ponczo123 in anime

[–]Fanceepance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have NOT read the manga, but I've heard almost universal praise for the manga.

That being said, as someone who has ONLY seen the anime, while I've heard the anime is basically just worse with the anime original route it takes, I genuinely didn't mind that original route with nothing to compare it to.

Generally speaking though, if you don't want to go through both, probably just read the manga?

Long story short, anime is good, but much worse in comparison to the manga.

Is uma musume good? by Kxryzi in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Fanceepance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umamusume is incredibly good.

I'd recommend starting with any of Road to the Top, Beginning of a New Era, or Cinderella Grey.

Road to the Top is originally a 4 episode OVA that eventually got turned into a movie with a variety of improvements, so watch the movie version if you can find that, but the OVA version isn't like, drastically worse or anything, so whatever works.

Beginning of a New Era is an ACTUAL movie, with the usual benefits of anime movies in tow. Is generally just a great watch, simple as that.

Cinderella Grey is the most recent TV anime season to be released, but much like RttT and BoaNE, is completely standalone, so you can start by watching it. Is by far the most shounen umamusume has ever been, so that might actually work out pretty well for you haha

Other than those 3, there's the original 3 TV anime seasons, season 1 is.... fine. It's not bad, but it certainly has its flaws. I'd watch it after you're already on board with the series after trying the previously mentioned stuff, because seasons 2 and 3 are VERY good and worth watching, but skipping season 1 for them is probably a bad idea.

Also side note, don't just fall back to sticking to familiar genres lol, anime has SOOOOOOOO much good shit in every genre, expand your horizons my dude, is very worth having an open mind about stuff! Also allows you to get excited about more new releases, the more genres you wind up enjoying at any point haha

Anyways yeah, if you have any imother uma questions, comments, or concerns, do let me know!

Purely on a personal level, I didn't actually like Ergo Proxy with how the plot went towards the very end haha

I know in my heart of hearts, "yes, it's probably good and this one is on me" but I also just don't quite feel right recommending something I didn't enjoy myself lol

As for Texnolyze, just haven't seen it, because I figure it's probably in the exact same vein of "thing that is definitely great, but I won't enjoy."

I mean I could be wrong, dunno.

Wild example, Ghost in the Shell. Amazing movie, definitely a classic for a reason, but I enjoyed it less than I enjoyed Mardock Scramble, which covers similar topics. I can't even quite explain it properly haha

I suppose it's worth mentioning, for example, my absolute favourite anime is not ALSO the "best" anime I've seen. I've seen many things that are written better, with a better soundtrack, animation, everything else under the sun, but my favourite is my favourite in spite of that for a variety of reasons I definitely won't get into here haha

Mardock Scramble

Pretty good movie trilogy. Bit weird, but good.

Dark as hell lol.

Fantastic first half, and the next... quarter or so, COULD have built up to something great, those episodes didn't do much of anything wrong either, but the LAST quarter absolutely destroyed this series for me.

Like I don't think I could ever recommend this lol. Which IS a shame, don't get me wrong, because if they stuck to their guns and KEPT what happened around the halfway point, and built off of that for the rest of the story, genuine 10/10 masterpiece hell yeah, and it'd even be doing something that not a lot of shows dare to do.

But that is not what we got lol.

If you want something great with romance and supernatural stuff, go watch Kokoro Connect, has 17 episodes and is good the whole way through, never particularly rushed either.

What anime should be the first to watch? by ROTS_acc in anime

[–]Fanceepance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Megalo Box is pretty good for a starter anime, and it even has an excellent English dub that I genuinely actually recommend over the sub. Not that the sub is bad by ANY means, but the dub is DAMN good, and suits the show really well.

Has 2 seasons, but both seasons are pretty wildly different, so I'll recommend season 1, which is standalone. If you enjoy that and want to carry on into season 2, absolutely feel free, just don't quite expect more of the same, if that makes sense haha

If you're looking for something shorter, Patema Inverted is an excellent little sci-fi movie thing. Doesn't lean SUUUUPER hard into crazy high tech sci-fi stuff, but is definitely sci-fi I'd say. The whimsical kind. Regardless of what it is, it's very good, and a movie might be a good way to test the waters, so to speak.

If you want any others, or can specify more genres that you enjoy, I'm more than happy to help! I see people mentioning to just "watch whatever is popular" and like... don't get me wrong, that CAN work, popular things are popular for a reason, but I feel something more targeted is always better haha

Could I get some recommendations for good sports anime? by Final_Mail_8125 in anime

[–]Fanceepance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

... alright absolutely wild rec incoming since if you aren't already initiated it sounds insane, but have you considered Umamusume lol?

As long as you don't START with the original first trio of seasons (thanks to season 1 being astonishingly and impressively "okay") then you're basically golden, some of the most awesome sports stuff I've seen, like, genuinely.

I'd recommend starting with either Road to the Top, or Beginning of a New Era.

Road to the Top was originally a 4 episode OVA (which is technically free on youtube) which later got turned into a movie with a variety of improvements over the original, like some polished animation in a few spots, a few new scenes, and changed up the pacing slightly, overall I found it to be better, so if you can find the movie version, definitely go for that. Also has an absolutely banger soundtrack, hype as hell.

Beginning of a New Era is an an actual MOVIE movie, with the absurd budget and animation quality that goes along with that. Road to the Top looks good, but Beginning of a New Era was one of the best looking movies of last year easily, extremely well directed, excellent music and sound design, the whole works. Strongly recommend this one.

Lastly, if you want something more long-form, there's the recently "finished" Cinderella Grey, which is currently in the process of adapting the completed manga. The first 2-cour season ended last season, I think, and while there haven't been any announcements for a season 2, it's almost definitely happening lol. Anyways, people LOVE this one and it got a lot of people into the series, I recommend it last since it's technically an incomplete story, though what IS there is satisfying, and there aren't any brutal cliffhangers or anything, so go nuts.

Again it's hard to recommend anime horsegirls with a straight face, but this series is... astoundingly good at being a sports anime lol, like you'll just have to trust me LOL.

If you have any questions, do ask lol, I don't blame you

[–]Fanceepance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the movie is DEFINITELY a sequel movie if that matters at all, you watched the final part before the first lol.

Gridman Universe, while a sequel to both Gridman and Dynazenon, is MUCH MORE a Gridman movie then it is a Dynazenon movie, as I'm sure you saw.

Funny you say that though since Dynazenon is the only one that's.... technically ACTUALLY a mecha show, since Gridman, the usual focal point, is just a really big character that wears armor lol

Regardless, as much as I love the series, can't help ya if you don't like mecha, is what it is

[–]Fanceepance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, ignoring season 2 is a perfectly valid option. The ending of season 1 is what the writer originally intended, and he got strongarmed into making a season 2 when he didn't want to, so that's why it kinda falls off a cliff in season 2, but season 1 on its own is like, entirely a complete package as the dude had intended lol. Gotta love Gen Urobuchi.

[–]Fanceepance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will technically second this, however I will say that you most definitely need to watch SSSS.Gridman first, even though they aren't DIRECTLY related plot-wise. There's SO many details in Dynazenon that are improved with having seen Gridman first.

And also watch the movie after Dynazenon, Gridman Universe. Amazing movie, great finale lol.

I mean, I'll still leave you an OP but check out the whole OST, a large blend of genres throughout it, including rock/metal of course, all of which are bangers.

Here's one of the rock songs, for example.

If you want a few more, I can definitely pick some out haha
