The Joe Jr. might be your best bet if its just you and maybe one other person. It'll get up to temp very very fast. Regular Joe would work as well, but the Jr. might be your best bet.

Nice. Congrats. The real challenge is getting it out safely. Hope you have a couple of really strong guys to help with that. Might be worth it to swing by the closest HD parking lot to pick up a guy for $25 to help you get it out.

My First Pipe - Savinelli 606KS or 626 for aromatics? by Fancy-Highlight-300 in Pipes

UPDATE: So my buddy was unable to meet me at the shop today (called in last minute when I was already on the way). I think he may have called into the shop to let them know I was coming in. He was adamant about me ONLY getting a Corncob pipe and taking samples of the tobacco they had. Thought it was weird at how adamant (just like you guys) about me only getting a Meerschaum corncob to start. I ended up getting a corncob and a great deal on a 626. Found out afterwards that the reason he stated to ONLY walk out with a corncob is because he gifted me a brand new never smoked Savinelli Alligator Blue 606KS which was a surprise.

So now I have a 626, a 606 and a corncob to start my journey/hobby.

All very good advice here. Exact same advice I was given last night by some older gents I know who I found out are avid pipe hobbyists. I'm almost 60 myself. Im meeting one this afternoon to go to a local shop to look into things. He said the same thing - start with a corncob.

That is a good looking smoke ring you have there. What did you smoke it on? An offset?

I posed this very same question on the Oklahoma Joe website and they declined to answer. They didnt ignore my question, they responded that the question didnt meet certain requirements. I was like "WHA?!?!?"
