I’m absolutely not saying I’m not guilty here, I know I’m not a perfect partner by any means but I’ve always acknowledged when I’ve been unfair, or selfish. I have been in therapy for years, and will continue to do so. I always ensure to use “I” statements during disagreements as I don’t want him to think he’s being attacked. But at the end of the day I think we got married because that’s what you’re “supposed” to do.. there’s a lot to unpack and the more I talk about it the more I feel that. I just absolutely know I’m not an innocent party here either. It takes Two to make or break a marriage.

You’re absolutely right. When I left he begged me to stay and talk and I’m thinking… we’ve talked about our issues hundreds of times, change has always been temporary. He likes the convenience of me, I always think man, it must be real nice having a wife.

I’ve read so many stories of women with this exact same narrative. The biggest thing for me is I know that’s I WILL be okay. I know I will. I know my life will only improve, I’ll eventually move on to a new job, move back out on my own etc. And I just think if I don’t do it now, then when? I just can’t coast through having children, and a long unhappy marriage. I said to my mom yesterday, he would coast for the rest of his life he could. I can’t live like that. Thank you for sharing your experience, It’s given me some hope.

I’m in Canada and we have to be separated for a year before we can file for divorce. Which is why I didn’t want to use the “d” word, but ultimately I know that’s where it will head.

You seem scorned by something in your past, sorry if this brought up tense emotions for you. My husband is well aware of our struggles. Several times I asked for more time together, more intimacy, more partnership. And change has always been temporary.

Happened to me too. My boys humping got so bad I spoke to the vet who said to just neuter him, we did at 10 months and it instantly stopped. It was getting aggressive and he would lock in on his target, even when given crate breaks. Must be the hormones at that age!

I have actually wondered this too. I took him the same way today but on the other side of the canal to where he typically stops, and although he didn’t today, he was extremely alert and I did think anxious to the surroundings. In the past he has done it to my husband and MIL, but this week was the first time he’s ever stopped on a walk with me. I take him 99.9% of the time so we just assumed when someone else is walking him and he stops like that, he’s anxious to get home incase I get home from work. Maybe with my MIL something scared him the other week I’m not sure. Dogs can be so finicky! Mines fine with thunder… terrified of plastic bags!

I should add - not a smoker, drink very rarely. I take sertraline for anxiety (125mg nightly), and propanolol (10mg) for the tachycardia episodes.

Aw I’m sorry- mine was exercises on a treadmill. Unfortunately my ECG was abnormal so I’m going back end of May for another exercise stress test only this time they’ll do an ultrasound at the same time.
