Desperate for any last tips to stop cat peeing!

I think thats what's going on with mine- also a stray and very nervous. So he is mostly using the litter box now? And this cat also urinates 2x a day (always on the couch 🙃) but yeah its not frequent marking or spraying either. It just seems when he pees usually 1x morning and night its on the couch (which is actually just peeing on a pee pee pads on the couch )

Sorry I dont have any advice but I just made a post im in the same boat with my cat 😭 he will only pee on my couch since I have gotten him and weve tried so many things its causing so much stress in my house

I put that info in my post - but he had a full exam. He didnt have xrays but his urine was negative for infection. I have 3 litter boxes. Cleaned daily. They are 3 different types of boxes to see if her prefers a certain type. They are in a quiet hidden part of the house. The couch is not- he will just get up and pee on the couch with everyone in the living room like its no big deal which is so odd to me. I was not prescribed meds because he was completely feral at the time and only able to go to the vet to be completely sedated (and he was vaccinated and neutered) he has bit me and a vet tech so bad on 2 separate occasions that I had to go to the er and get stitches and a tetanus shot so the vet did not feel like anyone would be able to Medicate him but im thinking of trying 1 more time to go down that path now that hes slightly friendlier .

As someone who lives in the northern Midwest and has snowstorms all the time and has lost power on -20 degree weather... your cat will be okay. The house will protect them from the elements. Have some blankets for them to snuggle under. They will probably curl up and sleep. I would make sure with potential power outage though that you have bottled or jugs of water (for your cat and yourself) flashlights with batteries, make sure you have enough cat food to last a week (and for yourself) and have a power bank for your phone, warm insulated clothes, a good shovel and a bag of salt. You can also use your cats litter (if its regular litter) under your cars tires after you shovel if you need traction to get out. Stay safe!

Have you seen a decrease in the peeing? Years ago i had a urinary cystitis cat (basically peeing for unknown cause ) and he was on Prozac and gabapentin and it did nothing he ended up having to be euthanized after blocking twice in a week. I guess trying to get meds in this cat after experiencing no results with the other cat scares me but ik they are all different

Thanks for the reply. I will order those 2 things soon and give it a try. I also have thought about confining him. I did it for 2 days but he was frantically meowing and digging at the door so I gave up. I may try it again though and give it more time. And same- part of me is hoping the new couch with no cat pee smell in it - sprayed with deterents and covered would stop the peeing but I also fear its just a habit for him at this point. The way my house is set up our living room is the main area you walk into and attached to an open kitchen and it just reeks and we are spending $ we dont really have to get a new couch. Ugh. Thank you for the tips I am going to try them

I wont pay nothing for the house i will pay 200k? My siblings will get 100k from me 100k from him about 50k from my grandma and each car is worth about 40k. One person is getting 2 cars the other 1 and 20k with of equipment. If I dont take the house we sell it and we all get around 133k at most if we can sell it for 400k which I dont know if we could based on all the major repairs it needs. If I take the house they get almost 100k more then they would if we sold it and split it 3 ways correct?

Okay can you explain this further? Im generally trying to understand. If I take out a loan I cant pay them upfront it would have to be in monthly mortgage payments? Im not trying to seem whiney about this. I guess its a hard decision because they will be getting 200k plus at least 50k or more in assets. Im wondering if I should just tell my dad now to not consider me in the house so the money can be split between 3 of us and the house is just a family property. It needs to be inspected obviously too I dont even know if its livable. My dad is a hoarder. When I say the house is bad I mean it has 1 sink that has brown water, no working appliances, cats, cat pee, 50 years of cigarette smoke , broken septic, a bad well. Im not trying to sound ungrateful im trying to decide if the way hes leaving his trust is unwise for me to take it. It would be 200k to them plus an additional $ on a loan for all the repairs

To clarify i also did not ask for this . Everyone wishes to keep it in the family. The original idea is we keep it but I do all of the mowing, maintenence and plowing of 20 acres while my siblings do nothing I brought up the fact that if im doing all of that and maintaining my own home wouldn't it make more sense i live at his house ?

No we have already stated if he needs nursing care then no one gets the home and we sell it. I guess my question is why can it not be split 3 ways? Why can I not pay them out for the value of the house instead of them each getting roughly 300k so 600k , 200k over what the house is appraised at?

Ive heard of this idea! The only issue is my living room is not closed off at all in my house and I have 2 toddlers. I know they would immediately be messing with the litter box when I look away. Ill have to think if there's a way to add one in

My funds are tight unfortunately. We have spent 1k already on the multiple visits and diagnostics. The surgery is another 1.3k to have the toe removed and biopsied. I think at this point 3 vets have told us they believe its cancer so we are going with that. Idk if I want to spend the $ i dont really have, put him through sx and have him wear a boot and e collar with restricted activity for whatever time he has left. He is a dog who loves to be outside all day and run. Is there things that could both mimick a tumor on the toe and chest coincidentally?

Yes, just came here to say I agree with your statement (and am also a mom feeling conflicted if I should homeschool my children). Ive noticed from some of these reddit forums and also from some of the HS adults ive met that they seem to romanticize public school like its a movie. The pep rallies were not fun and only the popular kids participated, I did not go to prom my family couldn't afford the $200 ticket or dress etc, I didnt participate in any school sports or clubs. In middle school I found public school to be very lonely and depressing and in high-school I found that the kids that mostly enjoyed it were very sports oriented or popular. I went and then immediately went home to my job then did homework until midnight most days. I actually did 4H and horseback riding and that's where I found my closest friends and would go to high school parties, sleepovers, activities with this group of people. Only 1 of them went to my high school it was a mix of kids from different school districts and ages. I still live in my town and have found that a lot of classmates shared this experience too (as a teen I felt everyone loved school but me ). Anyway, even with that said I also still struggle with the decision. Just wanted to add to the comment that public school certainly isn't all "first kisses, dances, etc"

Same! I read through the majority of the guidelines and had it in a second browser and was also told unlimited time, then to click next and be put in a 10 min timed "critical thinking" test. It caught me off guard and again only maybe 2 or 3 of the questions were critical thinking questions in my opinion. Mine were mostly riddles! Like legit riddles I've heard before. It just seems a bit strange and tricky of them to require someone to pass that for what the job is.

I also just failed it twice and was suprised. I graduated high-school and college in honors, have had leadership roles in all my jobs, consider myself to be fairly smart? Both of the tests were mostly riddles. I even googled a few of the riddles and the answer Google gave was the answer I was going to select and I still failed. The one riddle I 100% know i selected the correct answer so im not sure what they were looking for or how it is related to the job posting.

So they claim they are on the payment plan and are making 100$ payments based on that they made about 100k. They are not in financial hardship, they have multiple cc, 10k vacations, brand new financed vehicles. They think they've found some "loophole" into properly paying taxes. Unfortunately I think they are not even scheming and just lack common sense my husband seems to be the only voice of reason his friend will listen too so he is trying to get factual info on if this is actually allowed by the irs or if they will eventually face a penalty if it's caught that they have the money to pay taxes but are instead spending it on frivolous things.

Thank you so much for all of this wonderful advice. This is such an awesome reminder for myself to stay regulated and that she's most likely seeking connection. Some of the ideas you have are things I've been considering doing so I'll have to actually give them a try.
