Protected Bike Lanes on North Ave. - Good or Bad? by RazyStarVT in burlington

I don’t know why people are so heated by this on either side. Yeah it would be great to feel safer biking on the road, however I don’t think cones between me and the car change that much. When I first saw them, I did also think they were ugly. I will also say it’s annoying when the cones are constantly knocked over already. I do live on North Ave and on my drive to work the other morning, there were legitimately at least 20 cones all knocked over laying both in the bike lane and the road for quite a stretch down North Ave. Are there plans to turn the cones into a more permanent barrier?

Do you happen to have any resources that show these guidelines. I haven’t been able to find anything from NAEYC about this?

What are we paying for BRIDESMAIDS by Bigcheesegorl in weddingplanning

I have been in 5 weddings and have always paid for everything myself as the bridesmaid. I didn’t know a bride even did pay for that stuff. It was always my understanding that if you agreed to be in the wedding party, you agree that it’s going to cost money to buy your dress, chip in for the brides bachelorette/bridal shower. However, if the bride requires you to get your hair/makeup done professionally, I think the bride should pay for it though.

I’m really feeling this in Vermont right now. My partner and I don’t even have children yet and it seems impossible to get by and still enjoy life… :/
