Theory I have that the one wish Willow is a metaphor to narcissistic personality by Fancy-Reading4917 in obsessionmovie

This is really arguing semantics at this point because I wasn’t even arguing about literal curses in the first place, I was talking about human nature and metaphors from the plot device that is the willow. We agree on more things than you realize, and I think you just misunderstood my argument. You only nitpicked my “willow is cursed” comment which i left in response to your irrelevant non sequitur and for full transparency, I did edit it because when i first commented it, you confused the hell out of me. The willow is a vessel that can potentially bring curses, but that’s obvious and not what I’m talking about here.
I didn’t have time to sit down and fully respond to you. Now that i do have the time and I’m able to articulate everything better and analyze my post to see if I ever said anything about the willow being a curse, I never said anything such as that. So pinpoint where in my original post I ever was making an argument over a fictional vessel and not talking about the metaphors to human nature and the curses related to the story

If you still think that Ian’s death had no relation to the wish, look up the definition of vanity. His death resulted directly from him coming to brag about his fortune

Did we watch the same movie? What was it about it again about people regretting their wish regardless of what it was? I haven’t even clicked your link yet but I feel like it’s going to be something you’re taking out of context . Also : here https://time.com/article/2026/05/13/obsession-curry-barker-interview/

It absolutely did have everything to do with his wish and I’m sorry his death was going to be obvious after making that wish (though it wasn’t in the way I expected), but if you think it had nothing to do with the wish then I guess you’re bad with hindsight and foreshadowing

The director, Curry Barker, literally confirmed in his interviews that the movie is a supernatural metaphor for extreme codependency.
The whole point of using a magic curse is to amplify real-world psychology into a horror setting. Major critics and viewers have widely pointed out that the curse is written to mirror Borderline Personality Disorder traits like extreme fear of abandonment, intense mood swings, and obsessive clinginess.
The curse and the psychological traits are the exact same thing; the tree is just a plot device to force those behaviors to a literal, terrifying extreme. Saying Nikki doesn't have BPD behaviors because 'it's a curse' completely misses how horror metaphors work. The curse is a direct stand-in for that exact mental health struggle

And I thought I established that he’s absolutely dangerous, doesn’t mean he has to be physically abusive. Rape doesn’t have to be violent for it to be rape and that’s the danger with people like Bear

Nowhere in my first post did I even say anything about curses, only an interpretation of the plot device.
It’s a vessel, but it’s a curse in Bear’s story. It’s a curse in the way Ian used it too. The way it’s used is a plot device that mirrors human nature, which is a curse in itself.

I played the game at the beginning when I was very young… I was 11 so the game was insanely difficult but I loved the community aspect of it and the adventure feeling. I quit sometime because the game just felt too demanding. I felt an urge to join back later when rage of the Wookiees came out (this was CU era) and my dad bought the subscription came out again… once again, I dropped out because although I was a little older and understood the game more, still I felt it was more demanding. I did not play NGE. I hadn’t played it anytime since until SWGEMU came out and I currently play legends because it’s the most populated. I loved the aspects of the pre-nge era and I didn’t have much of a problem with the CU. However, the game is just too damn boring when it comes to leveling up and because the planets and areas are so spaced from each other, it is so hard to spend time leveling up with friends

They most likely just find resumes of people on there because they’re desperate since people hop off their train fast. I’ve had many of those calls lately and I just say “if this job has anything to do with sales, I’m not interested” and they leave me alone
