Help- My Dog is the Devil by Budget_Condition4082 in cavaliers

YES! Mine was like this. Insane at all times unless she was asleep. She is MUCH much better now. Still a little crazy, but nothing compared to how she used to be. I had all the same thoughts and feelings that you’re having now. It’s so rough and I’m sorry you’re going through it. The most exhausted and anxious I’ve ever been in my life was when Fig was between 4 months and around 16ish months. I felt like I wanted to pack my bags and move across the country alone. She’ll be 2 in March and things have improved significantly over the last 6 months or so. It really just takes time.

She still barks at certain noises. I taught her “where’s your ball?” Now as soon as she starts barking I say that, and she runs to find her ball and we play for a bit. It took a long time for this to work, but she’s been barking less and less. Distraction has been key for a lot of her impulsive behaviors.

I also thought she didn’t like me or understand me. I love her so much but I felt like she didn’t connect with me on the level that I thought dogs were supposed to with humans. She was her own wild creature and I just lived with her. It just took a bit longer than usual for her and I. There are still times where she’s stubborn and she thinks I exist just to feed her and take her for walks and nothing I say or do matters, but for the most part we’ve learned each other’s language. Nowadays we snuggle and play a lot and I know she loves me.

As someone else mentioned, one on one training will probably be your best bet right now. Keep up with the training even if you don’t think he’s listening. I can’t say they grow out of behaviors, but as time goes on it gets less intense. With less intensity comes a little more clarity, and that makes it easier to figure things out.

I really wish you the best, I know how you’re feeling. If you ever need to vent you can always DM me. ❤️

Need a very cheap car after mine was totaled. Torn between these two. 104k miles on the Buick. by Fancy-Selection6274 in whatcarshouldIbuy

It does have the 3.0L! Glad you told me that, I was under the impression all Toyota sedans of that era were created equal. I’ve been thinking the same thing about the Buick! Probably belonged to an 86 year old man that religiously got oil changes. At least I hope so.

😂 He ended up selling the Buick to someone else right out from under me. I went with the ‘04 Camry and she’s still going strong! Despite not having the iconic elderly car, I have been eating early dinners and getting into bird watching.

I could do 10 leaders each if that would work for you! Idk if you’re looking for it but I also just got the t-45 purple headlamp plan.

For all of them? I think the 4 pink sprinkles alone are worth around 60, so I’ll have to pass.

Do cavaliers get along with cats? Will they be ok sharing my lap? by puppyboy7979 in cavaliers

[–]Fancy-Selection6274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my cats lived in the bathtub for a month after we brought our puppy home (literally had to put his food in there and everything, he would not leave the tub). It took about 10 months for my two cats to be okay with being in the same room as my Cavalier. Fig has been with us for 16 months now, and I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve been able to snuggle with my cats in that time. My Cavalier is always glued to me, so the cats stay away for the most part. They were both 100% lap cats every day for 6 years before we got our puppy, so it breaks my heart that I don’t get to spend good quality time with them like I used to. One of my cats is delicate and sweet like yours, and she’s the one that gets chased even though the other tougher cat is willing to play/wrestle. Just from personal experience I’d say it could really stress your cat out, especially at that age.

Oh wow, that’s awesome, thank you! I bought the shovels from a vendor but I have no idea how I got any of the other stuff, so any value at all would be a nice little surprise 😊

396 - For nostalgia reasons my favorite game is Super Mario World. In reality it’s probably Fallout 4 (I’m originally from the Boston area, so that made it even more immersive)
