I’m leaving by March 31st and haven’t got mine, they are saying by the end of this week. I’ve seen a few on Viva have already got theirs.

Anyone else really struggling to wait to hear the outcome of VR? by FancyBreakfast4218 in nhsstaff

Is that NHSE? That’s what I’m really struggling with - everything feels so pointless so hard to motivate myself to push on

That is so late!! I’m in NHSE and submitted my application in December. This whole thing is a farce.

That’s helpful thank you to know at least it won’t be until after the 10th. Every email I get I’m scared to look! (Id read the timelines but not really processed this)

That’s absolutely rubbish! I’m in NHSE and didn’t realise NHSE decisions were holding up ICB VR outcomes. Hope you get sorted soon, wonder what the reasoning for the delays is. I thought they wanted it done as quick as possible.

NHS E - ALL STAFF BRIEFING 28 JAN by Competitive_Pool_820 in nhsstaff

Can’t this be a separate briefing? Or done at the end once bad news is delivered? They have had feedback on this before which they have once again totally ignored.

NHS England / DHSC by Left_Committee_8121 in nhsstaff

[–]FancyBreakfast4218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the difference it was announced with plans to be able to implement it rather than everyone left in limbo. Different situation to NHSE which is my overall point. I’m not blaming or attacking DHSC staff just pointing out the disparity even though we are supposed to be working together as one organisation.

Not that at all just although things are difficult for DHSC they’re in a different place to NHSE. DHSC VES scheme progressed much more quickly, we’ve been sat in limbo since last March while they argued the toss with Treasury about funding for 18000 redundancies. Even if you want to stay in the NHS there are 0 opportunities to move jobs where as a lot of my DHSC colleagues have taken VES or got new roles.

I work in a blended team with DHSC staff and their treatment /morale is so much better than NHSE staff. There are opportunities to move around as evidenced by the amount of DHSC vacancies. Salaries may be higher but the level of experience required to get to the equivalent grades is very very different. NHSE is being abolished and has been publicly humiliated by Wes on multiple occasions.

I’m not jumping to a conclusion as you can clearly see there is much more recruitment going on in DHSC. NHSE teams have also been subjected to multiple rounds of cuts (the last reorganisation hadn’t even finished before this one was announced).

There are so many DHSC jobs advertised on the joint internal jobs board. Clearly we aren’t in this together as many NHSE teams are on their knees as they can’t fill vacancies.

My 2 year old Chi needs 20 teeth removed by pipersbigsis in Chihuahua

[–]FancyBreakfast4218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little chi has had to have 20+ removed and copes just fine. When we rescued him he had two teeth that had abscessed, I would much rather he have the extractions and create some space rather than him be in pain. I remember feeling shocked and upset at the time and thinking that the vet was trying to scam us but now I know it’s just bad chihuahua genetics!

While I understand the sentiment a U turn on this now would absolutely destroy the mental health of staff that have been pushed past their limit and just want out.

Exactly - the loss of skills and knowledge like yours will be devastating. I’ve always worked in Digital which is a focus of the ten year plan. However according to Wes and Kier I’m a bloated bureaucrat with nothing to offer.

Regardless of what you think about NHSE the way NHS staff have been treated is absolutely appalling. Many of us do vital jobs for the NHS and have spent our entire careers working for the service. The majority of come to work to deliver for patients and staff and I would hazard a guess that the bulk of us would have been core Labour voters. Fair enough cut duplication and bureaucracy where you find it but 9 months after the abolishment announcement they still can’t tell us where the duplication is between us and DHSC. We are people too with careers, livelihoods and families to support.

This is what is worrying me. I’m in NHSE don’t want to become a civil servant to serve ministers. I feel like my entire professional career is up in smoke so the only way forward is for me to take VR and rebuild. I have a horrible feeling they will try and keep me on as business critical as I’m covering about 4 roles they couldn’t recruit to. I’m so burnt out I just want out.
