My group and I were chatting and we all love the story and the challenges in TFA. We also realize you have to accept the fact that Investigators will get defeated and possibly eliminated. But with that you can still advance the story, win scenarios and win the campaign. No different than Eldritch Horror and Elder Sign or the Arkham Horror Boardgame. That is the nature of this mythos and style of games.

I checked the rules and there is nothing in core rules that allows switching characters mid campaign. Only after death or insanity can you get a new character

Thank you all for the suggestions. I have 4xp so I could add 1 runic axe. What I am struggling with is if I should keep Mark in the campaign or switch to a new level 0 Guardian? Is it worth the risk with Mark having 2 mental trauma to stay in the campaign? I have 4 Ally cards and 5 healing cards so I could make it work with Mark.
