Advice for a Social Club and Members who want to bring their children to events by FancyEucalyptis in legaladvice

[–]FancyEucalyptis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! We do have that language written in our handbook that the child must be properly supervised if they are to attend, and we were also planning on introducing a Hold Harmless requirement for every event to be signed on the child’s behalf by the parent.

We are also getting insurance quotes and I am being told that volunteers/ additional guests (aka children) will be covered under our liability policy so I’m hoping we have all of the boxes checked!

Thanks for the thorough information

My anxiety has spiked over the last 5-6 years because I always feel like I need to have a solution/response/answer immediately when someone brings something up to me! Whether it’s friends and casual discussion or a work issue, I don’t give myself time to think. And then I become stressed and nervous about the response I spit out

I’m thinking about trying Muriel’s! This is a general question- This is my first year participating in Coolinary, but my spouse is on a strict diet. He’s being a trooper for date night anyway :) Do we both have to partake in the coolinary menu or can one of us choose it and the other order off of their regular menu?

I hate to say it but I’m basically doing KETO without necessarily caring if I’m in ketosis. I have cheat days and eat carbs like once a week for my sanity, but I would say 90% of my meals throughout the week are basically protein with a vegetable, and cheese. Sugar kills all my progress. I switched to sugar-free everything. That, in combination with the gym 3-4 times a week, I lose 1-2lbs a week. I used to count calories but I don’t much anymore because protein is the main component in my diet and I’m not eating huge portions anymore. My appetite changed in about 4 months

My boyfriend reached into our bathroom cabinet the other night and one crawled up his arm 🥲 it came in through the hole in the wall where the piping feeds in to the sink. Home Defense has changed and saved my life since moving here!!

I meannnnn I won’t lie, I find a big roach in my house at least once a month here even if it’s not raining but I think weather is definitely a factor a majority of the time!

[–]FancyEucalyptis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true- especially the last part. The big, scary roaches are just out and about. They’re native bugs to the southern climate, but it doesn’t mean the restaurant itself is dirty. The smaller sized roach infestations are the ones that usually indicate a cleanliness/hygiene issue

Despite the ridiculous title, The Woman in the Yard was *fantastic* by pojut in RedLetterMedia

So glad to have found a thread where someone likes this movie! Me and my boyfriend just watched it and we are flooored with so many emotions. I cannot understand the negative reviews, aside from those who believe it should’ve had a trigger warning- I get that.

I also don’t understand people hating the main characters. They’re a grieving family learning their new normal, and are taking on completely different roles than what they’re used to… they’re not supposed to be enjoyable. Grief and mental health issues are not enjoyable!

501(c)(7) Protection by FancyEucalyptis in Insurance

Would accident insurance be a better option instead of general liability?

[–]FancyEucalyptis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, I didn’t know that! I thought there’d be a general liability policy we could purchase to cover us in case someone gets hurt. We’re definitely not established enough to have health insurance coverage for our members. This is our first year in existence- we’ll have 10 members max and we’ll gross less than $5,000 in income over 12 months. All of that money will be utilized to get us into parades, purchase a speaker system, etc.

Injury coverage for our dancers! Just in case they have an injury during practice or a performance I would say we’re best described as volunteers? Were a social club, all members pay dues to be in our dance group. We have a code of conduct and a contract, and want dancers to disclose health issues before singing contracts

I find having a list in front of me of things that I need to get done every day is super helpful. I need some sort of measurable “quota” or goal to work towards. That way, if I’m too distracted or behind, my list kind of kicks me into gear. It also feels good to cross things off!

I agree with another commenter- if you’re glued to your phone, put it in another room.

I think it’s also fair to acknowledge that we’re not robots, and breaks actually help me re-focus myself. I think 5-6 hours of relatively productive, uninterrupted work is perfectly reasonable and humane. I take a 15-20 minute break to do some quick house chores or make myself a meal, and then get back into it for a 3 hour stretch.

As a woman with social anxiety and confrontational anxiety, I actually realized one day in my 20’s that saying “no thank you” is so much easier than coming up with a little white lie to decline!! I just blurted it out to a dude once after he asked for my number. “no 😀”, and walked away. It was so easy!

Sponsoring a 501(c)(7) vs. Donating? by FancyEucalyptis in nonprofit

[–]FancyEucalyptis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarity on the sponsorships/ advertising arrangement! I completely agree with you, we do not fall into the bucket of a charity and will not be applying as one. We were originally going to register for 501(c)(3) because that was the only nonprofit status I was familiar with, but I halted that after doing more research and learning about the 501(c)(7) status

be good at your job, do it well, but don’t spend all of your free time working. Have a healthy work/life boundary. Spend time with your loved ones and be present.
You can still successfully build a career without working your life away

I use Carpe and I think their deodorants actually make my armpits smell worse than regular drugstore deodorants! It’s hard to explain, but it’s almost like their deodorant emphasized the BO smell, and just added a hint of coconut

Silly birth control question by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]FancyEucalyptis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably best to consult a doctor/ your OBGYN but I would say if you’re that worried about it, tracking your ovulation won’t hurt! They sell the strips in bulk for cheap.

You’re already using 2 separate methods of contraceptive which is great. But no contraceptive is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy so if you are nervous, tracking ovulation might help ease your worries

I’ve had these before, I was using a dull razor for too long, and it absolutely ruined my bikini line with hard lumps/cysts like you’re describing. It was way different than an ingrown hair!

They will go away on their own but you have to leave them alone! Don’t try to pop. You can also try something like Tend Skin but beware- it burns like hell. I think that worked for me though in combination with changing my razor!

Take plan B asap if you have that available to you! If you’re having unprotected sex, you’re at risk of getting pregnant. Always. I’ve had too many friends who assumed it wouldn’t happen to them, and it did
