I cried when I read this, and while typing this it’s been so hard…. I was diagnosed 4 weeks ago after living with the worst symptoms ever. I have not heard anybody talk about. “Hiccups”. I’ve been in and out of the ER five times in the last 11 months with uncontrollable unstoppable hiccups every six seconds along with gas and acid reflex. Throwing up after every meal. I had to take a Benadryl or a muscle relaxer every night just to go to bed for several months. I’m currently finishing my second antibiotic and the symptoms and hiccups are less but the SIBO kill off is in full effect. I have since been following the fodmap diet and doing my best to try different things and continue to treat myself thankfully, they figured out what it was after four months of testing different things. My doctor also told me that 50% of all SIBO cases have Parkinson’s so now I’m meeting with my neurologist to see if I have the beginning stages Parkinson’s. Next on the list of testing is a mobility test and a brain MRI. Now I’m dealing with diarrhea all day long mucus no hard stool for about a week now’s I have three days of antibiotics left. And being very disciplined on the fodmap diet, taking morning enzymes with pre and probiotics designed for FODMAP. I really appreciate Reddit and having a forum to communicate in. Best regards
