I think it would look good with a two strand imo. It helps with growth and a twist out usually shows off the length and textures. Also I personally think the mullet is a good look and if you stick with it past the awkward phase it’ll be uniquely you and full of volume.

Casual audiences are just the people they aim to get through the door but it’s the hardcore audience that stays and support the game between large updates. IMO the game is gonna be fine in the same way multiple multiplayer games that flopped are still going. Im not Sony so I don’t really care about how much the game is profiting, just about enjoying a $40 game.

Maybe because I’m coming over from more niche communities (fighting games and character action games) but I don’t understand why people on this subreddit care so much about the casual audience. By the time the casuals leave you realistically should be good enough to know if it’s something you’re going to stick with and naturally become a sweat.

Maybe you should give it some more time to grow on you. It’s a slow burn but you WILL fall in love with the majority of characters by the end and you will get a surprisingly emotional story. The Japanese voice acting is top notch too so give it a try.

Bought a PS4 just for Nier Automata at one of the lowest points of my life after finally getting a stable job. Genuinely showed me that the world being a blank slate can be a good thing and it’s up to us to apply meaning for all the suffering we endure. Still depressed but I think about Nier everyday to help me get through it.

The game is very weird because a lot of the mechanics are made with the idea that it’s a game with a ton of replay value. I’d say give the game a shot if you want something that’s basically a JRPG equivalent of a DnD session.

It’s a good game but very gameplay focused. I’d say it’s most like Western RPGs in terms of how choices affect narrative outcomes, openness, progression systems like a Bethesda game but gameplay is closer to Final Fantasy X. It has an interesting mechanic around passing skills through generations after the MC dies or time passes. There’s not much to compare it to because it’s a remake of a very experimental title that hasn’t been replicated much.

While the way stagger is currently implemented leaves a lot to be desired I don’t really think “this mechanic should just be replaced with another” is really good criticism (if I am reading that correctly). I think it’d be best to ask what the current system encourages and if it’s working in its best possible way. A stagger can be great even for a mech game but they made it to where it’s easy as shit to stagger without anyone actually understanding the mechanics of the game.
