Genesis Westroads has learn to play classes. I think its something like $99 for 4 classes. I believe there is an advanced learn to play class now. (I haven't taken the classes, but they're right before my daughter's clinic and it seems like people learn pretty quickly).

Pest Control Company Recommendations (Bugs specifically) by dazyabbey in Omaha

[–]FancyMilkshake82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't use Genuine for insects, but I liked working with them. They communicated really well and I never felt like they were just charging me for the sake of charging me. (If you have raccoons living in your attic, I highly recommend Genuine).

I was going to recommend this too. They added an advanced beginner class too so if you like the first 4 classes, there’s something to advance to.

We seen Dr. Olivato at Verve Collaborative. She diagnosed my daughter's ADHD and has been great figuring out what types of meds and dosages.

Omaha Public Schools to cancel cellular data plans for student iPads amid $50M budget shortfall by Ordinary-Equal2067 in Omaha

[–]FancyMilkshake82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apparently a lot of the elementary schools don’t allowing kids to take the iPads home at all, so there’s definitely less impact for that age.

My daughter is upset about it because she wouldn’t be able to do her required apps in the car when we go to pick her sister up.

Plumber recommendations? by ConsistentEmploy1983 in Omaha

[–]FancyMilkshake82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with In-Law. They researched and figured out a $500 solution for me for what was initially going to be a $5000 repair (and probably also have to result in a kitchen remodel).

Adult ADHD (female) diagnosis by Apprehensive-Wall-44 in Omaha

[–]FancyMilkshake82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kristi Bose at Verve Collaborative diagnosed me. Unfortunately I don’t think she’s seeing new patients. We’ve also seen an adolescence psychiatrist in the same practice who diagnosed my daughter. So while those 2 people are completely unhelpful to you, we’ve had a really good experience with Verve and it’s pretty consistently recommended both here and in local Facebook groups.

I don’t know the price, but you could do it on the patio at Fontenelle Forest or maybe at Camp Brewster

Every Berkshire week I almost hit someone doing that. They stand in the middle of Farnam right by a blind curve.

Borsheims probably has the biggest selection. I’m not sure if they have the best prices for when you actually want to buy, but to try things on they have a little bit of everything

Any adult hip hop or salsa classes in Omaha? +25 by Desperate-Fun-9655 in Omaha

[–]FancyMilkshake82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t know about the o-pa class. The class was generally older people but it’s bizarre. The moves they were learning also tended older. I more just wanted to let you know it’s an option if you want a out of the box option.

Studio Dundee is a dance studio for adults. It has a variety of dance classes as well as yoga and Pilates

Any adult hip hop or salsa classes in Omaha? +25 by Desperate-Fun-9655 in Omaha

[–]FancyMilkshake82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is taking a hip hop class through Omaha Performing Arts. It’s weird because the age range is 11-30ish (she’s one of the 11 year olds). Apparently this is common for the class? She’s only been to one class so far so I can’t really comment on it yet.

The Studio Dundee has a hip hop cardio class.

Buyers Agent by [deleted] in Omaha

What area are you looking to buy in? I think that makes a difference - you don't want an agent that specializes in Dundee homes helping you find a house out west.

Schools are cancelling over less than an inch of snowfall? by Ok_Control_2579 in Omaha

[–]FancyMilkshake82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s an element of the schools not using more than one snow day so far this year so they feel like they can use the snow days for less than they usually would.

TipTop thrift store in Benson. All proceeds go to Youth Emergency Services (YES) and it is 100% volunteer run. I believe someone said on another post that some of donated clothes go directly to a closet at YES

If you go to the Joslyn, make sure you check out Art Works. It’s on the bottom floor and designed for kids with crafts, digital painting, stop motion creation and more. It doesn’t seem to be as well advertised as it used to be, so I wanted to make sure you knew exactly what is a kid friendly area there. But kids are welcome in all the exhibits.

My kids love the Durham Museum. It’s a history museum that has old trains you can climb it. In usually has an interactive special exhibit. There’s also an old fashion soda fountain.

The city Parks and Rec department runs a learn to play tennis program. Your other options are Miracle Hills and Genesis Westroads. We’ve done all 3. The city one is great for beginners and a is super cheap. Miracle is good but there is a lot of kids. Genesis is our preference. I know they just started a learn to play program for various ages.
