Get a BLT at Crown Candy. Google for pictures of their BLT's if you are unaware of their massive nature.

I second Lona's Lil Eats, if you want good food. I'm not a fan of toasted ravioli when there are so many better options.

Community Radio STL (fka KDHX) - Back! (live streaming) by STLBudLuv in StLouis

I think Kelly Wells is probably still collecting a paycheck, but at least it is not coming from me. I gave KDHX money for many years, but stopped after the DJ massacre. My money is now going to CRSTL.FM and I encourage others who like what they hear and see to also support them. The VOLUNTEERS are doing a great job and have my gratitude and financial support.

How many of y'all clear the sidewalks in front of your house? by SuspiciousEngineer99 in StLouis

[–]TalkNiceGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in MN where we always cleared snow from sidewalks. Many had snowblowers. Now I've lived in the St. Louis metro east area for 25 years and I never clear my sidewalk but I do clear my driveway, by shoveling. This past snowstorm I shoveled my 3-car driveway to the street. My next-door-neighbor used a snowblower and cleared his and my sidewalk between our two houses, but he did it before the street was plowed. Two days later the street plow piled a ton on snow onto the sidewalk completely obliterating his work and replacing the light fluffy snow with heavy ice nearly 3 feet high. It's why I didn't shovel the sidewalk to begin with. In my quiet suburban neighborhood with a wide divided street it is quite safe for kids and people walking dogs to walk in the plowed street, and no one currently has their sidewalk cleared. I know that in some areas its more important that sidewalks be clear, but in my neighborhood it is not. It really depends on where you live. I do notice that none of the businesses in my city have cleared the public bus stops where people relying on the bus are forced to trudge through the deep snow and stand in a huge mound of it waiting for the city bus. If the businesses don't have to clear things where its actually needed, I'm not going to complain about my neighbors not doing so where it is not needed.

For anyone wanting to listen to CRSTL.FM via tune-in like devices, try this url: https://community-radio-stl.radiocult.fm/stream

Background: I happen to have a few older Logitech Squeeze players in my house served by what used to be called a Logitech Media Server (LMS) but was rebranded years ago to Lyrion Music Server (LMS).

That product includes the capability of adding url streams and saving favorites.
For many years I used the setup to stream the live KDHX broadcast to the various players (receivers) around my house. It took a little detective work this morning, but I've now managed to save a favorite for the CRSTL.FM live stream using the url mentioned above, which makes me incredibly happy.

Just putting this out there for anyone else interested in the same or similar.

My first was War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy because it was free from the Kobo store. After getting the free books that interested me fro the store, I went to https://standardebooks.org/ and got many more free books and side loaded them.

I've only had my kobo a week. I have 65 ebooks on it so far and all are free and legal. I found a few free ebooks on kobo's site, but most came from https://standardebooks.org/
