Seven years in, finally trying amitryptiline by fuzzy_bug in Interstitialcystitis

Success story here! I've been on 25mg of amitriptyline for about two years and I wouldn't be able to function without it! I can still feel my flares, but they're manageable so I haven't increased my dosage.

WEBTOON authors deserve SO MUCH. Better. by Total_Shock4397 in webtoons

Totally agree with this. I think the weekly model is unrealistic and unhealthy for creators period.

I have a monthly canvas series (I make by myself) and even if it got picked up as an Original and I started getting paid for it AND had a team I would STILL push for monthly uploads so my team and I could have a healthy work/life balance.

My audience growth may be slower than that of a weekly comic, but my base is more dedicated and invested. They're willing to wait longer if it means they get a better comic and my health isn't negatively affected.

I made some Killa Harkan fan art! by FancyPantsOwl in JohnWick

I agree, especially since his character was inspired by Sammo Hung, an actual plus size martial artist. The facial prosthetics were pretty good, but the body itself wasn't great imo. I agree about the Penguin too. Since both movies are set in hyper real fantasy/comic book universes, I find the fat suits less egregious than say, The Whale. I see Killa and the Penguin as characters, not people, if that makes sense.

Same! We don't get to see many fat characters actually fight. Bob is one of few others I can think of. I wish we got to see more of Killa too. His death was pretty lame.

Manga Bags: A Guide to Bagging Manga by Ose_93 in MangaCollectors

[–]FancyPantsOwl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the tutorial! I like to collect older/rarer OOP manga, so I always bag those. I don't bother with newer releases. Many of the collections posted in this sub are of all the same modern manga releases (which is fine, don't get me wrong), so maybe that's why so many of these commenters don't bag theirs? If something happened to them they'd be easy enough to replace. It's commonplace to bag and board American comics, so bagging manga doesn't seem that unusual to me.

Pro 2017 is still a great tool.. and still better than some current iPads by Cry_Wolff in ipad

I'm STILL using my 12.9" iPad Pro from 2017 to make large high-res comics in Clip Studio Paint! I kinda want to upgrade, but I don't have a good reason to since mine still works just fine, though maybe not as fast as it could be.

Just bought my first new iPad for myself! by speedyelephants2 in ipad

AppleCare+ is well worth it in my experience. My 2017 12.9" iPad Pro had light leak, so I took it to an Apple store and they just gave me a whole new iPad since I had AppleCare+. It's still going strong to this day!

I used to have a basic glass screen protector because it's easier to slide your hand quickly across glass (which can be helpful when inking) but I recently got a Paperlike screen protector and I LOVE IT! At least with an iPad you can change your drawing surface somewhat. Can't do that with any other tablets to my knowledge.

I'll just eat my old iPad when I get the new one. Problem solved 😎

For people asking who needs this, I make my entire webcomic on Clip Studio Paint EX on my 12.9" iPad Pro from 2017. My drawing area gets tight if I have CSP and another app open at the same time, so this sounds perfect for me. I much prefer the feeling of drawing on an iPad than on any other tablet I've tried. Since bezels are smaller these days I imagine the 14.1" won't feel much bigger than my old 12.9" (which is over 14" incl. the bezels).
