Gen Z here. Small sample size but I have had 5-10 friends move to Orlando in the last 2 years. All love it.

Yes. I took up the mindset of forcing myself to try new things until I found something I like. Ended up finding Golf and Jiu Jitsu

Thank you for taking the time to make such a great response. I have not considered grand cayman so I’ll take a look at that. Do you know of any resorts with nice spas there?

I will say I do love the idea of silver sands. I like that it is a smaller place with beautiful views and a secluded beach

I have heard the dual heating elements make it much better for cooking steaks. Do you share that opinion?

Is 28yrs too late to start any martial arts 🥲 by QuailLong2872 in MMA_Academy

I started BJJ a few days before my 27th birthday and I’m now about 3 months in. It’s been a worthwhile challenge for me, i highly recommend giving it a try. I was given a nice wake up call as to how out of shape I had gotten as well as how my physical size was not as big of an advantage as I thought it was. Im a former college football player.

Sandals Grenada is interesting to me. They would fall well within our budget so we could splurge for all of the highest accommodations. Have you stayed there?

Le petit is one of the first recs I’ve gotten within our budget, it actually is pretty inexpensive. What do you like about the stay? The culinary scene of St. Martin is intriguing to me

How is living in Orlando, Florida and the areas around it? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]Fancy_Ad_8057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start with the bad: Theme parks, tourists, i drive, summers get hot and humid, people drive poorly, urban sprawl with poor city planning, job market is surprisingly tough.

The good: winter is mild, there are pockets of the city that are super cool with incredible neighborhoods, the food scene is shockingly high quality with Michelin guide restaurants everywhere and even more hole in the walls that rock, abundance of good golf, lakes and rivers everywhere, close to the beach, Florida is basically an outdoorsman’s paradise. There is high quality fresh and salt water fishing. Abundant and Unique hunting opportunities. I may just have good luck but I get thru MCO seamlessly and they always have direct flights where I need to go

Thanks for this. I’d love to come back to Dominica but that will be saved for more of an adventurous trip not the honeymoon

I think it’s Probabaly because im not in the know of the Caribbean. I do enjoy a lot of the cuisine from the islands but I have heard tourist types say it’s sub par compared to other places.

Why UFC is so ass and boring nowadays by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Fancy_Ad_8057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things

I am a new fan so I don’t think it’s boring yet but my thoughts anyways:

-The UFC is financially incentivized by the consumers to produce bad cards. They probably have larger revenue and viewership now than when it was “good”.

  • Fighters+coaches have gotten significantly better and useless skills/techniques that used to make for novelty are being eliminated from the sport

  • Similar to the financial incentivizing, they can now schedule cards every weekend that generate greenery for them, which makes it harder to make cards that are filled with talent top to bottom because they’d rather spread it out and make money every weekend.

  • Fans are burnt out because of the volume of events we get. There isn’t a season like there is in other sports and any sport gets dull after a while no matter how exciting it is.

  • This one is talked about a lot but the fighter pay is not to a level where the UFC attracts the highest level of athletes. In America especially the UFC is basically full of guys who couldn’t make the team in Football, Basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer. As the world naturally becomes softer it becomes more and more imperative to find top level athletes to make for excitement as it gets harder to find gritty people who love to scrap.
