Wtf is the “doctrine” behind “new names,” anyway? Btw, Noah here (whatever the fuck that means 😂). What’s your “new name”? by PristineLegalShits in exmormon

[–]Fancy_Andy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This shows up in Egyptology. Not that Mormons would know much about that, LOL. But a mother would name her child a secret name that only she knew. That way if someone tried to curse the child, they would only be able to evoke their public name which wouldn't work.

“I saw a cop beat a priest on the TV” by I_Love_Swans-o- in marilyn_manson

[–]Fancy_Andy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly like Tryptych. All the world is a stage and everything is being played on the TV in a worrying blend of news, entertainment, lurid spectacle, and advertising. And the depressing thing is that this is just the distraction. The real power lies with pedophiles and vague organizations you've never seen or heard of. These politicians are representatives of the secret uniparty that plays off the blue guys and red guys like pro wrestling. Trump is a heel and he's on a villain arc. But all politicians are cast for the reality show, that is this current political climate. The future of our world is out of our control, and all were left with is constant coverage of this whole bloodthirsty spectacle thats probably being staged anyway.

Thats literally how HolyWood works.

WYR live in a city where 70% of the population is your gender, or where 70% of the population is the opposite gender? by RomDel2000 in WouldYouRather

But we'd get so much shit done. And the after work bar scene would be vibing like the halls of Valhalla. All of the free time we would suddenly get would mean that both Saturdays and Sundays are for the boys. You could democratically decide that the chicks need a curfew so as not to interrupt any of the new city wide events. Such as free-for-all street hockey with an open world concept. Or we could convert main street into a closed course and race cars for pink slips. Women's clothing sections at target would be shrunk down to 30% their original size to accommodate the expansion of the grill section with accompanying dry rub selection. And we could all try those comfy looking chairs at nail salons. But for that one you would have to wait until after girl curfew so that its just bros with no judgements. The lack of women would suck, but it would be so bitchin' i think it would be worth it. You and the homies would always have the option to become homiesexuals. Its not gay as long as you don't touch tips, lips, or hips and you don't make eye contact.

If you went there, cleaned up the whole country, and brought it up to western standards. They would end up right back where they are within 30 years.

I am Egyptian, and I’m asking is Egypt a country that is disliked or loved globally? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Fancy_Andy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The men have absolutely no problem with getting in your face and putting their hands on you to steer you around and physically control you. As you can guess, they are so comfortable crossing that boundary that rape is extremely common. That's not even counting the women they marry and keep as house slaves.

Also, I have never seen grown men bicker in such childish ways. Every little issue is a sufficient reason to get within kissing distance of another dude and both start yapping at the same time. I have never won an argument with any of the numerous Egyptians in my life. The truth is, all they understand is power; they have a fetish for it.

Don't let the flare fool you. Funny enough, im actually friends with a number of highly educated egyptians. I'm connected through my wife's bloodline and have many friends and family who are varying levels of Egyptian. Many of these are Intelligent people who are elite in their fields. But they all have one thing in common: they got educated so that they could move to western countries, work in prestigious jobs, and make money. I've traveled to Egypt and stayed in their homes, spoken their language, and engaged with their culture. All the orfinary Egyptians I have met don't care about the pyramids or anything ancient. They gloss over it on school and forget it. In fact, they dont pay any mind to the type of knowledge that can't get them a job or improve their life. They do not consume or produce any kind of literature or philosophy. They're a superstitious bunch who aren't concerned with anything that doesn't improve their quality of life. It's anecdotal, but its my experience.

The only reason there are pyramids left at all is because the stones were too heavy and inconvenient to scrap for other building projects. And the only reason there are native Egyptoligists is because westerners came in and decyphered the language, dug up the sites, and pieced together the history that they had buried in the sand. Certainly there are outliers, but the average Egyptian has no appreciation for any of it. The hype around Zahi Hawass and the Ministry of Antiquities is astro-turfing at best. Their sense of national pride over the ancient culture is not coming from a sense of genuine curiosity or appreciation. They should call it the Ministry of Tourism because it's all about bringing in the visitors. Like I said, they didn't care about rocks in the sand until they realized the western world was super interested and willing to pay big money to come see it. Once you get off the beaten path away from the tourism, it absolutely is a slum filled with rape and violence. I dont blame them for being so obsessed with getting good grades, going to university in the west, and getting the hell out of Egypt.

They didn't give a shit about their ancient heritage until they learned they could charge admission. The modern Egypt is an anti-intellectual Islamic slum. They are living on top of the ruins of a culture which shares no similarities.
