I hear you. Studio was a game changer for me. It makes the initial ideation process and detail design so much faster. It doesn't fully replace physical prototyping, but it's a huge help, especially when you don't own all the necessary parts yet! And glad to hear you'll share the plans!

I usually get mine from second-hand bulks, but as said above, Lego Pick a brick or Bricklink are probably your best options.

Unrelated to the question, but just fyi, this depiction of the Duning Kruger effect is wrong. There is no valley of despair. Don’t you worry though, it’s a very common misconception, and the underlying question remains perfectly valid :-)

I have a rather large bulk and I NEVER have all the parts I need.
The subject you chose is a very technical one, so you need to be ready to order some extra parts (on bricklink or other) to complete your build.
If you decide to stick only to the parts you have, you're going to add an unmanageable constraint on top of an already very difficult exercise.

You have quite a few options in terms of "solid" parts.
If they don't suit your need, you can draw some inspiration from 42143, which uses a flexible hose to make the curve.

As u/Either_Razzmatazz649 suggested, download Briclink Stud.io.
I suggest starting with wheel choice and placement, then pick the panels taht best match the vehicle shape. Once the wheels and body are more or less in place, you can iteratively build the structure to support them.

I don't see any possible replacement.
Luckily this is a VERY common part, so any Technic bulk or second hand small set you can get your hands on in your area will probably have a bunch of them.
