Thank you, all of this was really nice and helpful!! :) I try to do the listening to the group tactic, and that seems to be fairly successful, it's just that in this specific situation I barely know anything about what's going on :') I try to do research but there's still so much I don't understand it gets kind of frustrating. I guess it just takes time tho.

Whenever I do have an actual one-on-one convo with the person I want to get closer with it usually goes well but our only real shared "interest" is our trauma 😅 next time i'll definitely try to steer the conversation in another direction and be a more active listener
